WRP gauge lifter/vent .. good? bad?

The only problem I see is the height of the gauge afterwards. I run a low windshield and have been known to roll my sled over to get unstuck. The gauge would be higher than the windshield and take the hit. Not good. I might try to build my own that sits lower, if I ever find the time.

LOL, you think a w/s is gonna make a difference........

Actually with the low windshield, the console is the highest point, so putting the guage higher makes it the highest point other than the bars. One of the main reasons for the short windshield is so that I have the option of rolling my sled out of a stuck. One of the quickest and easiest ways to get unstuck. Not much to laugh about really.

I was worried about rolling the sled over as well.. But if you search previous threads on the lifter it has been discussed by some with experience and seems to not be a problem.

I ran it all last year with NO windshield and rolled my sled over and over without issue. That would be the last of my concerns.

The lifter does put the gauge slightly higher than the console. It ended up in that position as a result of needing to both clear the wiring harness past the mesh and to clear an SLP intake.
The lifter rotates and in the event of a crushing force or blow to the gauge it can rotate to deflect the force. The gauge of the aluminum was also chosen to be able to support the gauge thru any situation, but give and fold sideways to prevent damage to the gauge or console from a crushing force.
500+ of these have been in use for more than one season on Cats. 100+ on Poo for a portion of a season and I have not heard of one that has caused damage. Or failed for any reason.
Satisfaction will not be an issue.

That is truly a beautiful pc of machined art.
But it won't fit the SLP intake. It doesn't rotate to a custom angle. It creates a gaping, snow-sucking hole and it won't stop your gauge from crushing thru your dash. Price is your decision.

Personally, there's no question.............................I ordered from madsigntist

PM reply sent.
Just to clarify, WRP sells my MadFab Designs gauge lifter.
If you want to purchase from me directly, mention you saw this thread and I will give you a nice discount. Product is satisfaction guaranteed.
Thx, Matt

PM sent :D

I bought one and copied it to make a pattern of it with the ability to hold the gauges for my turbo. It turned out really good. It is an awesome product as it is also a vent where the sled really needs it. I also drilled a 1/8" hole through the pivot point and added a cotter pin to help prevent movement with the added weight of the gauges.

That looks tight! Well done Sir.
If anyone wants something custom like this added, let me know.
Its a breeze to add this to the cut when its being CNC'd.

It's often said that an unhappy customer will tell 10 people about their experience and a happy customer will only tell 1 other person (okay i may have the actual numbers wrong, but you get the idea). I'm the kind of person who really appreciates good customer service. I want to let you folks here know I had a very good experience with Madsigntist. I placed my order for his gauge lifter this past Monday. He sent me an email telling me it had shipped and I should get it soon (with out me having to ask!!). It showed up today... Thursday. It looks like a good product. I will let you know how the install goes.

I think customers should take the time to acknowledge good service, just the same as they like to bitch when things don’t go well. Thanks Matt!
