Wrist pin bearing housing.

Has anyone ever had a wrist pin bearing housing failure? It appears I have on a aftermarket piston kit. It lasted for about 200 miles over the past 11.5 months. It pretty well toasted the head, piston and cylinder. The evidence was left into the imprint into the piston. Think the company I bought it from should be covering the bills?

Yes picked up a 600 rush with a broken cage also toasted head cylinder and both pistons. I think that motor was over revved had low gearing and light fly weights. Be sure to check the rods and crank before you replace know damaged parts.

Had a 580 Powder Special I did a top end rebuild 8 years ago with Wiesco pistons and aftermarket wrist pin bearings. First one failed in 200 miles took out piston and pounded the cylinder head dome. The second failed at 500 miles. I replaced the Wiesco pistons with the same and used AC wrist pin bearings. Rode the sled another 2500 miles with no problems. Sold the sled 2 years ago and it is still running.

finding afermarket pistons its possible it had a burn down perviously, damaged the inside of the rod so the new bearing was runnin on the rough causing failure. that is if they even replaced the bearings. i have seen people reuse them after popping, never a good idea

i still have one of those! its like a really crappy puzzle! i have however built a little holderfor em

ha ha...speaking of crappy puzzles , i had a friend send me up a wood burning fireplace insert used many years ago...he says to me on the phone.."make sure all the bricks go in,if they don't your doing something wrong"

Well after a few days he calls me and asks how the install went and i told him no matter how i tried i always had one brick that would not fit..

He then said..."don't worry about it,i threw an extra one in as a joke"..
