Mutual friend good guy says the only way to make it right is new sled. I agree and now i have a another new pro. Awesome guy. but now mine has a loan and is dead. he financed one for me. what the best approach to make this right? and yes im a dumb *** for no insurance. thoughts
Go in next week and put insurance on the wrecked one.
The snowmobile is top on my list of items that need full insurance coverage, they can go from $14,000 to $1000 value in the blink on an eye. This is also why I do not borrow, rent, or loan snowmobiles, period.
In your situation lbakki, I would feel much more comfortable if the new replacement sled was tied to the financing in my name.... and the wrecked sled was tied to the other guy's financing. I would also help him repair the wrecked sled so he doesn't suffer a total loss. Parting out the wrecked sled could also yield a fair bit of the money back, another option.
Also..... kneez, I find your thoughts on this disgusting. Your post should be punishable by conspiracy to commit insurance fraud!

So you have a loan on your sled that was totaled? All the banks I've ever dealt with when i've had loan against them require you to have insurance. Seems weird.
