Here's my take on this soap opera.
It's a cool place (BCR) as long as you aren't looking for any actual content. Hopefully it will get better as more people join. This whole situation is a lose-lose scenario as far as I'm concerned. There are a lot of snowmobile forums out there. Remember IndyDan's forum? ArcticChat? DooTalk? SnowandMud?The only thing that makes snowest stand out is that there are/were a ton of people that contributed. You were likely to be able to find someone with a similar problem and solution. Snowest is going to kill the one thing that set them apart by reducing membership through fees.
With the number of members on Snowest, I'm shocked that they can't pay for this thing with advertising. There are a ton of smaller forums out there that work through advertising. I hate to break it to Snowest, but their magazine is not good enough to keep me around.......
Regarding the censorship and deleting of posts: how many of you frequent KTMTalk? That is one of the most useful forums that I've ever seen. You can always find the information you need. They are much stricter than Snowest could ever be. I stopped posting much on Snowest, especially the Washington section, becuase it has turned into some sort of sad little popularity contest. It's a challenge to find a thread that doesn't go off on some stupid tangent. To be honest, I haven't followed this thing very closely. Maybe I'm out of line here. Maybe the deletion of posts goes far beyond what it should, but I can't blame someone for trying to cut down some of the garbage that's on here.
