I do not spend nearly as much time on here as I used to--I watch and read more now and post less.

This is a buisness--I agree with that--but much of what they are bringing to the table--I will never use.

As far as the moderators and the crack down---well--I am a moderator on another site for fishing and we stop ALL bashing and problems between members immeaditly. But we have done this from day one. No inapropriate pictures etc allowed either. There is a big plus to this--unless you are the pot stirrer--LOL. We have a very productive site with lots of shared info and have made many freinds there as well as here. We all know that a good fisherman is a rable rowsier and tall teller--.

It seems to me that they are catching up from being a bit lax in the past.


As for the charge--I am not in for it right now with the economy( and my pocketbook) being as tight as it is. But they must do what they feel works for them as a buisness. I have seen alot of peeps come and go over the years on this site--it will survive--despite all who feel it will fall apart.

We do all miss the Fordy and Gravy posts--always good for a laugh, but generally destroyed any post they jumped on==topic OVER.


That is all I have to say about this for now.

I agree with most of what you're saying. I DO NOT miss the people that are gone. I've been around here as long as you and there was a time in the past that it was safe to post topic's no matter what level of sophistication you were. In my opinion the site turned into a small group of hooligans that went from section to section looking for people to harass. So instead of valuable content being developed you needed to be prepared at all times for the mob mentality. I just stopped posting and I know even though most people are afraid to speak up I'm not the only one.

Ive been a member on here since 2003 and i really have to say things went from being a family site to people bickering.That being said i really do believe when post start getting deleted it feels alot like russia ill be honest i dont post alot but i have learned alot and this site used to be great but most of the peeps with info left this site i could not get my magizine on time i can amagine how this is going to go I would like to say thank you snowest for the years of service you really did a great thing with the snowmobiling community

Wow, this is the first I have heard of the pay thing, just read through my PMs. I have just been lurking this winter waiting for snow and was wondering why there was so much less traffic this year, I have been on since 2004 or so and have never seen the site this dead. I guess I know why now?!?

I just read the main post describing the changes and they are trying to make a profit off this website. Given my background that so does not make sense (I am a CPA and work with casinos/resorts). This forum is here to support the magazines, in fact, I only suscribed to the magazines because of this forum, not the other way around.

But either way, it is their forum, and clearly people are being run off.

This is a free country, and I live here, not China. Mods should NOT delete posts, unless there is p o r n or other obviously offensive material. If someone is ripping other people, then the mods should deal with it through PMs and TOS, rather than deleting the posts.

At least I know why there has been less traffic and less good info.

So people who subscribe to their magazine don't automatically get a free membership to the forum? I would consider subscribing to the magazine if it included a free membership to the forum. If the magazine subscribers have to pay to be on the forum, that is just despicable IMO.

Feels like the Howard Stern Show lately. The show was entertaining for a while, then they ran out of things to talk about and it turned into a whine fest about what different people on thier staff did or did not do. Totally boring and I could care less.

We just need some snow, that's all. We need to see carnage, deep pow, stories of good adventures, and help each other fix what we broke over the weekend.

I will say that my days on SW end when I have to pay for it. I'll go to other sites that just get revenue through advertising alone.

Bottom line is that this site has lost the free feeling fun atmosphere that made it so great, yes this site will still exist with all the new rules, but it just isn't as fun or entertaining as it was before Christopher showed up and started all of the supposed improvements
there are other sites that will allow the fun atmosphere and they will flourish from the stumbles of SW, sad but true

its not the moderators that are screwing it up it is the people on the site screwing it up. I am at the point that I want them to charge soon to get rid if all the whiny bull$hit.

Agreed. May be a good thing at the end of the day.

The usefullness of the site goes does dramatically when every single thread, no matter what the topic, gets hijacked and turned into a "Fordman is gay" discussion.

I came on here read a bunch of posts on the condition of snowest wich I am totally in disgust with ..and took it out on winterbrew.... a person who I hold in the highest regard!!

In my group of riding buddies we talk about settups, etc and what is working...
many times....and i am one when he had his polaris...give Doome a call

i have and did and rode with him......

I wish i could erase what i said but he has seen it so i am going to leave it up so you all know the truth as to why he deleted his post.
