Just did my taxes. I could buy a used 2011 etec if I wanted from the Feds, but I can't even fill up my fuel tank on the truck from the State of Colorado. WTF??!!
So you want the state to withhold the same percentage that the feds took out all year????????? I do not understand that at all. If so, you can request that your employer takes out more, gives to the state to use all year, and then get the extra back.....

Wow thats a big federal refund, I would adjust my W-4 and keep that money in my paycheck.
you should be about break even. if you're getting that much back from federal you're having too much withheld. you're essentially giving the irs and interest free loan for an entire year. if the roles were reversed they are sure as heck going to charge you interest......
Sales tax 9.3% and property taxes are like friggin Illinois.
Try moving here from a non-sales tax state. I get the pleasure of paying sales tax on MSRP on ALL of my vehicles. NEAT.
How the hell does that fly? Why would you not pay sales tax on the actual sale price of the vehicle? That is a ****ing crock of bull**** if I ever heard of one.
Yes, those are bad here. At least CO is not corrupt (at least not as much) like all are here!
Yeah then they tell you what it depreciates every year after that and charge the taxes accordingly. Buy a used car they tell you what it is worth and tax accordingly no matter what you pay for it.

Why would someone have to pay sales tax on a vehicle they already own, that they bought in another state?
Ownership tax I get, but it ain't the first time I have heard of people moving here and paying through the nose for plates, because of the sales tax. Ask XC, I think he almost died when he got CO plates.
The only state I can think of that's worse for plates and registration is Utah.
