Just saw on 9 news that Wolf Creek Ski Area is opening on Saturday with 3 lifts and 600 acres.
Looks like some of you So Co guys will get in at least a road ride this weekend.:face-icon-small-ton.

I'm in Durango. Theres no snow down low but the web cam on wolf creek shows its FRIGGIN DUMPING!!!!

Don't know if I want to take the new assault up yet, not sure if I will be able to contain my self to roads. I'll probably wreck it before the season really begins. Wish Molas Pass had a cam on it.

The web cam at wolf creek...it moves but when it zooms out to look at the Nova lift you can see it dumping snow in the light.

Good reason to have mine torn down for seasonal maintenance, keep it in the garage for a few more weeks.

From the Denver Post online.

PAGOSA SPRINGS — Wolf Creek Ski Area in southwest Colorado says it plans to open for skiing Saturday and Sunday, after a storm left three feet of snow.

Resort Vice President Rosanne Pitcher said Thursday that ski area officials will probably decide Saturday whether to keep going for the rest of the season.

Pitcher says this is the earliest Wolf Creek has offered skiing. She says resort officials are still deciding exactly what will be open this weekend, but the plan is to offer three lifts and about 600 acres with a lift ticket price of $33.

A road ride sounds reasonable but much too expensive to venturing off trail this early.

Wolf Creek stretches there snow fall too, if they say three feet I'd guess more like two. I don't think I'm gonna be able to resist the temptation, probably going up Monday and stick to the trails for a break in ride at least.

Fox 31 news ticker this AM said Wolf Creek was reporting 36". Snotel close by shows ~22". More snow Sat though everywhere!

Never been sledding there, as snow will be light what area would you suggest? Park Creek Road/Summitville?

You have to remember that ski resorts use their own special rulers, Their gauges are also under trees and they shake the tree before taking a reading. Then those readings go up to marketing for press releases.

The Summitville road is usually plowed by the mine for about 10 miles. You should be able to park at the end, or on one of the offshoot roads along the way, and ride the roads all over. There are a ton of forrest service roads you should be able to ride.
