I'm looking for some info on riding in the Wolf Creek area, never been there. I guess if I could get a local, or someone who know the area fairly well to PM me that would be good, I have a feeling you guys are trying to keep your area on the down low considering its.... low on snow and no good ... Where is good place to stay in Pagosa? Looking for somewhere sledder friendly, with good parking as we will have one.. maybe 2, 35 ft trailers, and something around $100 a night. Not sure how skiers, feel about sledders in that area, but most places i've rode they dont really like snowmobiles, so we'd preffer to keep our distance from them if we can. Next where exactly do you ride from, looks like theres 2 trails heads just north of the Pass. Looks like trails 410 & 430 go north, and 380 & 390 go south, what best and wheres the snow at? Any info would be great, PM it or post it here. Up to you!
Thanks

Wolf creek

Well I grew up in Pagosa, but now live in montana, there is great riding all over, but your best bet too get to know the area is just go to the top of wolf creek pass, there is good parking, and a lot of riding on both side of the road. coming from pagosa west side of pass ,when you get to the top the right hand side of the road is a great area to start! lots of people ride there. and I'm sure you will hook up with someone that can show you some more riding... and as far as lodging i would stay at the Springs Inn not only can you soak in the all the different natural hot springs but nice rooms and right downtown, walking distance to a lot of great places to eat and drink and" must try the Bear Creek Saloon " great food and good peps!! hope this helps:face-icon-small-coo

Rode there the last two weekends. Elevation is about 11,100. Snow conditions decent. We found lots of untouched waist deep pow. WC bout the only place i've heard that you can ride with little concern of tearing up a sled.

up top I think you park at 10800 feet.

ride up to 13,000...mostly between 10 and 12k

they only got an inch out of the last storm..and after the nationwide beating it took last week will need some snow to freshen it up.

You wont need any new snow where I went todaay stuck fest all day
Long !!!!Was a great day of riding, and so close to parking!!!

where is the best place to stay around this area ..im also lookin at maybe comin down after the 1st ...having trouble finding a place to stay close to the riding with deent trailer parking

What is the weather supposed to do up there this week? We are thinking about coming out Jan. 1st. Does anyone have any input on where a guy should head? Not at all firmiliar with the area. Thanks!

Weathers not doing alot. Stay in South Fork or Pagosa Springs, and unload at one of the trail heads in between.
