Wolf Creek Monday-Wednesday next week?

Cottonwood/Tincup Pass areas Tuesday-Thursday next week?

Anyone interested in riding with me? I don't know many in the area but I'd love to go down and ride and catch up with others who would be cool with me riding with them. Or, is there anyone who needs a riding partner?

Originally I was seeking others to go to wolf creek but its just too much snow lol. So this storm I'm thinking cottonwood pass/tin cup will be great. I'm hoping to hit kebler pass that friday. I looked online and it looks like these areas will get 5' from this storm (Thursday-Tuesday). Wolf creek is expected 94"

Thanks to those who have reached out, I appreciate it.

if they get the snow they're supposed I'd probably miss a day of work to head over there. It'd likely have to be Tuesday or Wednesday. I live over in Bayfield, so I'm about an hour away from the top of the pass. I'm gonna be out riding today and most of this weekend too.

Forecast is now showing 94" which is ridiculously awesome but almost too much snow. I'll be getting stuck so much.

Thinking this storm buena vista area...

Is this area a great sleding area... Is there good climbs.. What elevation

Snow like that and I would be intrested in the drive there to see... Thanks

Yes, Wolf Creek is a great riding area, and even on an average year it gets a lot of snow. If you don't believe me go to youtube and look up some of Burandt's videos that have been filmed up there.

I don't know where you're coming from, but at the top of the pass (just west of the ski area), there is a parking area. Park there, unload, and start riding. They groom a trail through some of the riding area. If you follow the groomed trail and look around, you'll find areas to dive off the groomed trail and play.

There is another riding area to the east of the ski area. If you're driving east from the ski area there is a pull off parking spot a couple miles east of the ski area. That parking lot accesses Tucker Ponds, Elwood Pass, Summitville, Pass Creek, Park Creek, etc. I don't know this area at all-get a map. There is another access point to this same riding area further east on Wolf Creek heading to South Fork. You go over a bridge and there is a parking area. The snowmobile club grooms a track through all of this. Go to coloradosledcity.com for more info.

What days are you riding. I'm off this coming Friday, but got to work the rest of this week. Rode the last 3 days, I'm spent, need to go to work to recover.

Great thanks for the info, we will be starting our journey tommorow night.. Twenty hrs one way from alberta.. We got some rooms off a few miles from the ski hill, they said insane snow there now..

Any other info we need to know to ride there... Thanks

Where's the best place to stay in that area? I've never been.

Pagosa has more rooms and places to eat than South Fork, but folks claim they're slower to get that side of the Pass open during a big dump.

Can't recommend a specific place that is good, as all I've stayed at is dump motels.

Anyways my 2 cents is you're staying more than 2 days try Pagosa. 2 days or less try South Fork.

Good gas at the Rainbow in South Fork.

Places to stay in SF in order of preference:
Lazy Bear Cabins
Foot Hills Lodge
Ute Bluff Lodge
Matt Entz recommends Wolf Creek Lodge, but the parking is tight if you have a trailer.
Allington Inn

As per eating there are several places: The Shaft, Ramones (Mexican), quick stop has BBQ, The Firehouse and Rainbow has a sandwich shop.

Ethenol free fuel @ the Rainbow also.

So has anybody made it out alive with pictures yet? The CDOT pic from the highway looks like a lot less than predicted but I don't know the area that well.

Red Mtn was deeper than that by a fair amount... Silverton is still in the storm, I bet Molas ends up with 4-5 feet.

I rode OCP Wed, Fri and Sun. Each day our previous tracks had disappeared. There has been an easy 4 feet over the last 10 days.:eyebrows:

sorry to high jack the thread buy we are coming to Colorado from south Dakota for the first time and we bought the Wild Skies Cabin package at the rocky mountain elk foundation for this next weekend 3/7-3/11 and am wondering if they are getting any of the snow you guys down south are?
