With all the Avy Deaths, what Kind of Insurance do you have?

Happy to see that a few people are taking care of what is important. I work with insurance/finance and it is surprising how many people don't think it could ever happen to them or would rather use their money else where. Protection and peace of mind is cheap.

A few people have referenced their age--just remember the younger you are when you purchase a policy the cheaper it is.

Revpilot--when is the last time you checked? Some companies are offering preferred pilot rates now.

wise choices...

I too work in the investment/insurance industry. Life insurance is my specialty - I carry a million on myself and a million on my wife. I shell out extra for whole life insurance as it is my opinion it is absolutely the best place to put your money. I know a million will take care of her and my son if something happens to me - it will get my son to age 20 or so when he can become self-sufficient. But I also put any extra cash I have each month into my policy as it will one day be my retirement account and my own personal bank, if you will, to use for other investments, etc.

Congrats to all who have looked far enough ahead to protect your loved ones.

The best huh, thats interesting.

Have 6 mil total. 3 for work as a key employee (I own the joint) 3 personal.

Set up in a trust with my wacky stipulations on the way $ is dispensed. only a certain % per year, kids have to go on for higher education, wife can't give it to a new hubby ect...

I'm a pilot, 2500 hours+ IFR Com Multi Can't get insured in the plane, DUI 8 years ago, have a rider on the policy. Never tell your insurance agent you do anything associated with high risk, ie snowmobiling, sky diving, pilot. They will ask in the under writing process.
