Wiring Harness Question

Hi guys this is my first time posting since I can usually find the info I need just from searching the forum. But I now have a more specific question that I am hoping someone on here might have some info. (sled is a 2013 RMK pro 800)

Last year at the end of the season I was riding a pretty steep climb at full pin when I heard a loud pop and a bright flash so I immediately killed the engine. When I looked at the engine I discovered that one of the spark plugs had backed out completely from the engine (super stupid on my part-cold hands probably made me rush installing the new plugs and not completely set it). So we tightened the plug back in and it fired right back up. We immediately headed back to the truck to call it a day at this point. On the way out I noticed the hand warmers were getting extremely hot to the point where I had to turn them off because they were almost burning my hands. I also noticed that my headlights were blown out which I assume was the flash that I saw when I heard the pop.

I went in to the local dealer to see what they thought and he told me that I blew my voltage regulator when the plug popped off. But last night I started digging into the sled a bit and noticed that an electrical connection near the voltage regulator was unplugged (see attached picture). Does anyone know what this connection is for? I am thinking that if I plug it back in the problem might be fixed but I get a bit nervous working with the electrical because I don't want to fry the ECU.

Any input is greatly appreciated

That would be the plug to your voltage regulator. Definitely plug it back together.
