Winter Enclosed Trailer Camping

How do plan to keep the pump from freezing when driving down the road?
Piping and pumps will be drained then blown by mouth, piping will be sloped towards drains or the tanks to minimize water that remains in the lines. Tanks will be bubbled.

Heres what it looks like in the day time prior to poly-ing everything (2 coats high gloss "fun" green paint on top & 1 coat of poly on plywood)

Then I applied 1 coat of poly to the entire wall:

Came out awesome. 1.5 gallons of poly so far... Alot of fumes blowing through there.

Got my hands on a unit that displays the amounts of various gases... VOC was pretty high with the Poly:

We'll be using this to sense for leaks prior to departure and we'll be doing some datalogging through the first few trips. Stay tuned...

front heater tstat, interior 120v lights dimmer, exterior 12v light switch. Both heaters will have a timer, rear will be timer only since it's more for glove/boot drying.

Water tanks, pumps and heater mounted:
Water tank will get another strap toward the bottom, i still need to install the vent on top. Vents will go to an overflow tank (thinking of using an liquor bottle) so if the water sloshes out the vent it has a place to go.

Left to do:
-Plumb gas to heaters.

I am still trying to figure out where to mount the propane tanks, originally i was thinking under the work bench in a separate sealed and vented compartment but after doing some research I'm not sure it's legal or safe. There isn't sufficient room to mount them on the tongue of the trailer so the only other place I can think is on the front of the V driver side (ramp is on passenger side). The tanks would be mounted up high enough to clear the truck tail gate in a vented steel box. They would require a step stool or ladder to access so I am really trying to think of a better idea.

Only other place i can think of is on the underside with a horizontal tank but that then requires you to take the trailer to get the tanks filled.

-Plumb water tanks/shower
I have the hose just need a bunch of random fittings.

-Paint floor
Picked up an exterior anti-skid paint, we will see how it holds up.

I had the same problem with my old trailer. Here is where I mounted mine on my old trailer. It worked good and never got in the way when turning.
Nice! I am going to have to hookup and make some turns to see what kind of clearnance there is.

How long is your V?

What is that antena looking thing above the tanks?

The v was 6'. Yours looks 4' or 5' so it may not work. The antenna was for the stereo. Keep up the good work. Your trailer is going to be sweet.

Not too much progress this past weekend, halloween shananigans, Avy Awareness class w/Mike Duffy, and camping in the snow (almost enough snow for a road ride...)

Cabinets installed, needs another coat or two of poly.

Still working on the furnace and shower plumbing, hopefully wrap that up this week, and get the floor painted this weekend.

Starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, just in time for the snow.

Cranked the heat up last night, didnt take long to get up to temp. Definitely need to add some fans to keep the air moving around, big difference between floor and ceiling temperature.

Radio installed, turn the 12v disconnect on and the phone automatically connects through bluetooth.

cost question

Just wondering if any one had purchased a used slide in camper or pop up tent trailer to scanvenge parts out of for a trailer conversion, I have seen several campers and popups that were crappy exteriors but nice interiors for under 1000 bucks. I really considered the campers because of the shower crapper one piece units that would be nice in a trailer. Plus it would already have all the pump gauges tanks and even a fridge and heater. But I figured the heater would probably be to small. I am considering doing a gooseneck

Never heard of anyone doing that... My only concern would be the large shower/bathroom piece. With our shower pan design, it folds up over the water heater and plumbing, leaving alot of room for the sleds.

Hey guys! We've been busy using the hell out of it over the holidays! Spent wed-sun of christmas at the idleglenn trailhead in grand lake & wed-sun down at cottonwood pass.

We've been able to host a total of 4-6 people a few nights. Its really been a great experience!
