I have a 13 x package xm and I am curious if there is and screen in the digital guage that tells you how much break in is left and or if it will tell you if its done? Or do you have to take it to the dealer?

Don't believe there is an indication on the 13's, dealer only. Some rumors say that the 14's will have this feature. I bought late season and it looks like I will not get it broken in this season. Would be nice to know where I am at though.

2 weeks ago was at Rabbit Ears in the freshies, was climbing hills and when it came out of break in, it felt like I had a turbo strapped to my a$$. You will feel the difference. I now have 450 miles on mine, and like BREW said it was approx. 300 miles when you will "feel" it.

Only 180 miles on mine. I am looking forward to some of that "turbo strapped to my a$$" action for sure. I am quite impressed with how it runs now, but can see where there should be more at times.

Patience ....................... Looks like next season now:face-icon-small-dis

I also hope for the "turbo" feeling when my 13 reaches break in, but I doubt I will notice, my 11 and 12 e-tecs didn't run any better. I read you will be able to monitor break in on the 2014 gauge.

Does it the motor/ECM know what kinda of miles it takes to break in? Mountain pow riding vs mixed trail and off trail? This is gonna be a really long summer and fall for me.

You can get a pretty good idea how far along in the break-in cycle you are by calculating your MPG vs. Miles. go to your average fuel consumption screen on your lcd display, and divide that into your mileage, and if you are over 22 gallons consumed, then you are probably broken-in. I've checked this method against the BUDS readings and its been within a couple of percentage points every time.
