will hay days be in the same location this year? Permit issues?

:):beer; thanks RJ for the re-inforcement.

Another good organization in MN is ATVAM, sorta the ATV'er's "MNUSA."
We are finally making a little progress with the county and township boards for a ATV trail system, running from Little Falls , thru the Brainerd area,to Emily,MN.
You wouldn't believe the b!tching and moaning from the greenies about the potential "damage" in the old Crosby-Ironton iron mine pit area. What the he!!, its an abandoned and over grown mining area.
But finally the boards realize how much tourist money they are losing to adjoining counties, and are moving ahead.

It's already rideable by wheeler from Emily-Outing to Grand Rapids.

Wiz make those trailes single track!!!

My fault for getting off topic of Haydays, seems like it was beat into the ground, :face-icon-small-win but most sledders are ATV riders in my experience.
So........
what is your reasoning behind the narrow trails? To keep mud trucks out, or what?
I don't think trail width has been discussed yet. Mainly the county boards have to approve the idea and basic route first. Actual trail work could be a year away at least.

Some of the existing ATV trails vary from logging road width, to two wheel tracks barely wide enough for a 4-wheeler, with heavy woods and brush along side. Some have by-pass trails along side for play areas in mud, rocks, logs, steep hills.

You wouldn't believe the whining excuses and predictions of the ruination of life as we know it, from the "anti" crowd. Almost laughable. Commissioners are tired of their rants, and are moving ahead. Told them to appeal or sue.:D

forget the impact on town....how about all those rednecks who charge 5 bucks to park in their lawn? That's who we need to be concerned for if attendance drops.

I know I read somewhere that one of the current locals, yes, one of those that is charging to park in their, has complained and had tried to fight their permit after this past year. Saying that the dust created from the event was getting into their house and causing all kinds of problems. I'll have too try and look up the article. It was rather amusing, I believe it was from the tribune.

If it came from the Trib, it must be some liberal crap. Might be a Somali who wrote the damn article too.

It's funny how some of those folks that live on the dirt roads behind haydays complain about this. You can see them every year having their signs out there to stay off their drive ways etc. Now they complain about dust in their houses? They live on a dirt road, wtf would one expect? Also it's one weekend a year that brings in boat loads of money to the local economy in which they live. Go figure, I put it down to just plain idiots that don't look at the big picture and think they are going to benefit from it.

I believe the whinning, but I have seen what quads can and will do when piloted by weekenders out having fun...does make me nervous soemtimes...but I have faith that clubs will do proper work, etc to make it a non issue.

I say narrow because only girly men ride quads....real men ride dirt bikes and we like those trails 32 inches wide with 33 inch handle bars!! Reall though, MN needs more biker designed trails.
