will an 07 reverse DD fit in an 05?

I have a customer that wants me to swap a 07 reverse DD into his 5 or 06 Crossfire 700..
I know its a little different in shape, but assume I can cut it to fit. will the driveshaft work? Something tells me its a different length or something. Been a while since I've messed with that chassis.
Any incite will be appreciated.

Why would anyone want to put a heavier drive in with a reverse gear that you won't be able to use.
I would just stick with the dd that was designed for sled.

Doesn't the engine need to almost stall when it shifts into reverse?

not for the mechanical reverse. its just gears in the diamond drive
