Will a F6 do fare in the Big horns?

Im going on a west bound trip to the big horns and was wondering if my F6 SP will do alright. im from minnesota so i dont own a mountain sled. just a ditch hopper. a friend says it will do fine but im not so sure. 2 years back i went and rented a M7. that thing was awesome!!! where we are staying rents polaris and yamaha. if i do rent which should i go with?

Depends if you want to do some climbing??
If yes then rent a 151 or longer
Also depends on the snow, if it's set up and hasn't snowed in awhile your sled will do just fine.
If it dumps 3' of POW over night a 163 won't be long enough.

If money isn't a big concern I'd try and get my hands on a Dragon 800

I agree with the depends on the snow conditions advice. There are some days that you could take a short track anywhere we ride, and there are others that I wish I had something more than my 155, If they have alot of fresh snow go for a Poo. They are closer in handling to the Cats if they have the 8's for rent do it no matter what.:D

You won't be happy with the f6 as it is just goint to trench and you will be digging all the time. As suggested, rent a pol and don't worry if it is a 600 or 700, they will both work alot better than your f6

this is true.. we have been up there the last couple weekends.. the snow is bottomless.. my ol'174 track even got stuck ... if the snow doesnt setup by then.. definatly rent a sled.. it will be more enjoyable

Good call, lateley, it has been 144" + minimum if you want to go off trail successfully. You certainly wouldn't be able to but new tracks with that F6 and you would be hardpressed to make it over some of the smaller hills just to get to the bigger hills.

I say rent too. Last year we had an F7 with a 144 13.5 under it with us and that poor guy spent more time digging than riding.

I think 700 is the biggest Bear rents out. They are more expensive that the Nyto's at the Passage, but I would guess more fun. You could pick up a used sled and sell it after the trip. It would cost you less than renting. It is getting very expensive to rent plus the added high deductable insurance

Being from the Big Horns and seeing all different types of sleds come out to ride, I would say RENT!!!! Also like stated above, you don't need the biggest HP sled, you will just be happy that you have a longer/wider track. Have a great time!!!

Rent a sled, I bought a Yamaha Rage out West my first year and it nearly ruined my trip. My buddies were flying around on their RMK's like nothing. Now everyone in our group rides a 144"-155" sleds (all from MN).
