wich sled is the best for backcountry

Hi, I got a 600 rush polaris and last year I realise speed and trails are not for me, I prefer riding off the trail. I was thinking of trading it for a 2010 Assault I like a lot the nytro but dunno 130 hp doesnt seem enough for me, I do backcounty and small hill climbs we dont have any mountains I would like to know wich sled is the most performance in torque, flotation and boondocking stock thank you

depends on who you ask.. if you ask a guy who rides a skidoo hes more than likely to tell you an xp. a polaris guy is going to tell you a dragon and so on.. ride them all and see which one you feel more comfy on

Yeah, you will get everyone's personal opinion and that really won't help as much as riding the sleds yourself and finding what you really like. The Nytro is a little underpowered stock. If you turbo that sled it is damn sweet. What's your budget?

I weight 180 pounds and my budget is my 600 rush 2010 with vforce red handguards, mtx clutch, Slp silencer, downgeared 2 teeth, willing to trade for a backcountry sled and willing to give 2k

That probably won't get you a brand new sled (maybe a holdover), so I would look at a M8, D8 and XP8. All are good back country sleds. You have to ride each to determine what you will like.

I'm really surprised of all the honest answers here. When I clicked on it, I expected some major brand loyalty/bashing. Thumbs up to everyone that's posted here.

Good luck in your sled search.

Seems like a nice kid. We all only want the best for him. Stock 7-800 150+ track. Like JOSHKOLTES said, doo an AC.

The ultimate will be a 426lbs 2012 Polaris PRO with a Carl's Cycle Sales 660 cfi single pipe with a 150 CE track trimmed to 2.1 with screws. Holz front with FOX EVOL X shocks...Probably Evol X rear and air front like the Alpha X. Of course Better Boards, Bars, and Bumpers!

I think I'll call it...........

Polaris Pro Ambush Edition

My first question would be, Where is your riding level at? This is kind of broad, IMO if your not an very agresive rider then you might not want to go with the POO, unless you want to spend the doe on new suspension. The Cat and the DOO are a little easier to ride, (I'm a POO guy) and this is knowledge from compareing sleds up to 2010, have no idea on the 2011's. Yammy's don't come into play with me. The HCR is a great sled, easier to ride than the POO with out the stay ontop of it all the time, but not as nimble. The 08 and 09 Doo is a great sled with a more ease of control, and better flowtation in the deep snow. But all in all there is not 2 cents diffrence in all three.

Just my two penny's

and its for sale ...lol. I like a zx chassis and a big track. easy to huck around reliable and about the best throttle response for its age. If I keep it and do more work to it it will have a 174 track on it and an RKT drop in kit.
