Slut, I've been saying the jist of your OP for a year and a half, but no one sees the significance. Plus, when I'm emailing it to people, I usually get the message back "are you using your laptop?" they say it because my cpu was made in Malaysia.
Its impossible to live an "All American" life. That I've noticed. But there are those of us who try, and buy more American than other people. But when we call them on it, they usually just turn it around and point out all of our non-american possessions.
umm... not to be a huge party pooper here, but if you guys understood economics you would know that because we trade more money is kept in the U.S. The losses our producers occur are offset by the gains retained by lower pricing. On the whole we benefit, even though our producers suffer. To maintain an upper hand we need to produce things that we have a comparative advantage in. i.e. we need to produce goods that we are able to export. If we adapt, our society is still better off than if we didn't trade.

It fell off a cliff because the the international banksters wanted it to. They create the problem , we react, then they offer us a solution. A global solution that will override the power of the nation.
