Who's running Cutlers intake?

Who's running Cutlers intake? New install pics.

How do you like the intake? Is there much differance between Cutlers and BDX intakes besides the price? I would love to see some pic!!! I rolled my sled and busted a peice of the hood off so I need a aftermarket intake now. It will either be Cutler or BDX.

Thanks

From the web pic it's hard to guess what they are doing for venting? The manifold is easy to figure out along with wear the filter goes and the cover over the air intake, but wear are they pulling air from under the cover? Do you have to cut out holes in the front? Does anyone have pics of this installed or know how they are pulling the air in? Pic’s would be great!

cutlers! i bought my first cat from them last year and since my first experience with them, i have bought my clothing, accesories, parts etc from them. very good people to deal with! the Cutlers intake has the mushroom filter and then has front vents and shock tower vents that are directed to let fresh air around the air filter. What mods do you have done to your sled? i'm asking because even they will tell you depending on your set, the stock intake is most beneficial on a mostly stock engine.

p.s. perfect example of why i am a fan of cutlers. i wanted to get an aftermarket intake for my 09 m1000 and after talking to them, they advised me that based on my set up, i should stick with the stock set up and save my money.... great people to deal with.

Well I ordered the Cutler intake on monday. Hopefully I will have it so I can install it this weekend and I will post pics. They didn't ask if I had any other mods on my sled but I have speedwerx full exhaust. Guess I'll see what happens.

Cutler intake installed

Don't know how it compares to others but seems like a pretty good kit. Took me about 3 hours to install. Plus it has the frogskin vents not shown.

air box

I am wondering if anyone is or has considered running without a boondocker system.....safe boost in response or danger of running to lean.

Considering running on a stock 2009 crossfire 1000

Does the cover seal up pretty good? I tape my bdx cover so no snow can get through the top, thanks. tim

It says in the instructions to trim the sheild if you desire a better fit...I spent about an hour trimming it with a cut off wheel and I'd say it covers pretty good. Probally could have done it in less then half an hour but I wasn't in any hurry.

LooseBolts1000- I would probally call Cutlers and ask them about running the intake on a stock sled without a fuel box? I think from what I've heard they run leaner with a aftermarket intake then they do with a y,pipe, and can. I personaly like Atitudes fuel contoler.

Good pictures Mr. Clean. How do you like the intake?

It sure looks a lot more substantial than my BDX intake (which I haven't installed yet).

It's drilling all the holes in the nose and shock covers that make me seriously consider NOT doing the mod.

I like the intake. First aftermarket intake I've had so I don't realy know how they compare. I probally would'nt be to thrilled about drilling all those holes but it can all be replaced anyway. I think they said to drill 1/4" holes but I decided to go bigger in certain areas and I added a few extra too. No regrets here. I think the customer service sealed the deal on the purchase.

Cool, thank you!

The BDX intake seems a bit cheesy.

This one looks very nice but drilling all those holes just rubs me the wrong way.

I have to wonder if maybe the Timbersled intake might be better yet? Does one have to swiss cheese their belly pan for it?

Not sure about the Timbersled intake but I've heard people complaining about it drawing in the heat from under the hood. That's why I choose that one to be the last on my list. I just don't see much of a gain if your sucking in the heat from under the hood regardless of how many vents you have on the hood. I think I would stick with the stock intake before that one. JMO

Sounds good!

I do think there are peole that actually like the Timbersled intake, right?

I guess I could always take the Mo-Flow vents and install tham over the swiss cheese area of the belly pan and skid plate.

I would think that the incoming fresh air is heated up a fair amount with the stock setup since the intake assembly is actually attached to the inside of the hood directly above the engine. I know that the updates for the 08 M1000 included adding a vent to the stock air assembly that allows warm air to be taken from under the hood also. I am running the Timbersled with a bunch of venting and have had no problems but the Cutler looks like a very nice setup. What little snow gets under my hood near my intake does not melt so i think the air getting to the motor is plenty cool.
