Whos afraid of the big bad putty cat LOL

I've ridden the Ms... I think a bunch of you would be surprised at the M1100T... even in the trees. I wish I had the $15k to buy one. :(

I thought all snowmobiles break? I guess it is just a matter of which one breaks the least amount of times. I guess I understand the whole pride of ownership thing, but the brand loyalty blindness gets old. Quite honestly, my Polaris Pro RMK hasn't exactly been the model of reliability. Numerous problems right off the bat with it. My Dragon was an absolute nightmare. I am sure there will be some poor bastards that have terrible experiences with their new AC's. The thing that keeps us coming back is the fun factor. Even though they are ridiculously expensive and seem to have about a 3 year life, the fun factor and the experience outweigh the reality of sled ownership. I attribute most of the brand bashing to small weiner syndrome. If you really want to prove your superior physical and intellectual prowess, go take on someone in a wrestling match and then play chess or scrabble. Oh boy, I am ranting. Really hoping the snow will get deep so I can scan Snowest for some good videos, pics, testing, and technical info.:kev:

I'm not sponsored

I love my Pro... Literally love it. However, I am not paid by Polaris, and I don't ride around in any obnoxious, branded Polaris garb either. I would gladly ride with anyone riding an AC, or a doo. (I draw the line at Yamahas) What makes us all keep coming back is the ride with friends, and the trash talking over beers afterwards. We all will embelish whatever line we picked, or how our sled performs anyways. It's all part of the fun!

Can't wait to ride

hypothetically speaking, if both run the way they should without problems and setup right. (Havent ridden the new cat so cant say) I think (???) the pro rmk is going to be a more fun out of the box sled for 90% of riders that ride stockers. Its light and it works well in every way. But I think with a little tweaking and some cheap weight loss they will be pretty equal depending on rider style, rider weight etc... Now if you do lots of tweaking, drop weight, turbo, suspension (what I plan on) the cat will take it and last longer, this new chassis is stout.

The issues we are hearing sound like there was some stupid stuff from the factory going on like rivet tails falling into the air box, and some other things that need to be checked. Anyone with a good dealer shouldn't have to worry about anything but dropping some weight off the pig. There are threads in the cat section anyone with a m8pc should read and check just in case.

Can't wait to find out though, planning on getting a pc8 153 after I get a demo ride, but my friends all have 163 pro's so it will be hard to compare, need to find someone with a 155 and compare.

Last a lot longer as what....some type of weight to keep your spare plywood from flying away? From the sounds, the AC Pro-Seize can't make it out of the parking lot without locking up harder than grandma's hips on a cold night!

I think thats from chitty dealers not doing the proper inspection etc...

Did you see the one where the guy had a a arm fall off in 20 miles from not being welded right. WTF

Proper inspection should be happening when the part is completed, when the part is installed and at the final assembly check before it leave the factory. The dealer is the last line of defense and if he is the ONLY line of defense then AC owners are screwed.

This sleds launch has been a fuster cluck starting from the pre-launch announcement, to think that the sled assembly/production was going to go any better is just naive.

Sounds stout to me!

Great new fuel saving techniques from AC....your new sled automatically dismantles itself and/or blows up instantly....saving you a lot of potentially wasted gas money!

I never owned a Dragon, only a Pro but the first ride reports over in the Cat section haven't been exactly positive. I'm not going to say there p.o.s. or the next 900 for Cat but they have had 7+ years for this sled and to blame the dealer for the problems seems unfair. An A-arm falling off from a poor weld is not the dealers fault, 100% Cat quality control should have picked that up.

wyo it's time to come and buy a Pro and not have to deal with the problems that the new Cats are gonna give ya ;) haha

yeah it has me second guessing, I was near wanting a pro until I watched one fail and now the cats can't make it into the back of the pickup. Not blaming the dealer, just saying if you have a good one that does it right you shouldn't have to worry. I hope. I should just get one of each.

Wyo, lets look at your arguments about the pro rmk..weak tunnel..yeah I suppose it is the weakest(or should I say easiest to bend ) tunnel out there..it should be..polaris built it to be just stout enough to hold up to aggressive mountain riding..without any more then 15 pds on it right at the rear of the seat..fine..easy fix..consider how many of these sleds sold last season..and how many have been reported bent? not very many...and I would be willing to bet that most of those that were bent had far more then 15 pds on them, and were bottomed hard when they bent..simple fix..even at 6 bills for brads complete new boards/sides...engines...ok how many over the entire last season and the start of this season have you heard fail? a 1/2 dozen?..aa dozen? even 2 dozen?..I have heard of 5..1 locally that had a pinched oil line...the rest off the forums...heard of any...and I mean any issues on a 2012 poo pro? I havent..not one...heres another one..remember at the start of last season..thread after thread about weak a-arms..yet once we got good snow out there..no more issues or threads..why? because peeps were hitting chit..brand doesnt matter when you hit rocks and stumps..none of them survive it for long..no complaints yet this season...odd isnt it...I understand peeps reluctance to accept how good these ppro's are ..but come on..the proof is in the threads..polaris sold a ton of these sleds last year..and its a drop in the bucket compared to what they did this year..there is a reason for that....

They'll get the M figured out, they know what a mountain sled should do now. Took them until 2005 the first time. Cat is the smallest OEM, smallest budgets, longest motor dev time, and most loyal customers, but when they get it, they get it. It just takes them longer. They know all this, and they know they can cut the corners with loyal customers abit as long as they perform well and keep improving. I mean, they really think like that behind the wall. They also have the kickbutt stock turbo, and in their minds, biggest wins, which means the most. Just sayin. How long did it take Poo to remember how to build a RMK? And I own one, love to ride it, but I'd ride a cat just to ride if I had to. Time to ride!

Serious? Most loyal? That goes to Polaris... that anyone still buys a Polaris after the 800 big block cranks, 900, and 800 Dragon shows just how "loyal" their customers are... I guess "loyal" is the word we would use.

And I wouldn't be throwing too many rocks yet if you are a Pro rider... it wasn't until mid 2009 that the 2008 Dragon flaws started really rearing their ugly head.

It's a little early to trash the pro climb. Yes some are having problems but lets see what the issue is before calling them all a failure. I am fairly brand loyal but i wish some one had bought an ac in my group. I hope they do well. All brands have issues.
