Who hates their Nytro?

Why does everyone think they need a turbo out of the box? Mine will climb very close to 800 Rev Summits, which is pretty good considering the revs have a 16 wide track and weigh less. I'm 100% happy with mine and have no plans to turbo it.

Sea level HP is a lot different than altitude HP.
At 10,000ft where I sleep, I've lost over 30% of the sea level HP. Ride up to 13,000ft without a turbo, sc or nos, suddenly there's fewer powder wheelies and the fun factor drops considerably.

I was contemplating a super charged nitro for next year's replacement of the 07 mod doo. Looks like I'll have to count on a driver/track swap for sure, possibly a new tunnel and then the charger.
Damn, that adds up to some serious coin pretty fast.
I'm still holding out hope for a 1000 doo in the new chassis.

I have a supercharged Nytro and love it. Even stock it is a good machine but you have to take it for what it is.
But you have to hand it to Yamaha for building a great chassis and making it fairly light. I weighed mine full of fuel at 620lbs compared to a full mod turbo RX-1 at 684lbs, and a REV XP 163 at 528lbs. I think my sled should be below 600lbs now, that is not far off a old REV or M1000. Then you take into consideration the reliability of the 4-stroke, if left completely stock the thing will run for years with little to no-maintenance.
The sled is fantastic in the powder, boondocking, and decent climbing in stock form. Anyone who bought one and hates it obviously did not do their homework before buying it and have unrealistic goals for the machine.
I really beleive that the Nytro is just the begining of the 4-stroke crusade taking over the snowmobile industry. Anyone who disagrees needs to go to their dealer and try and buy a 2-stroke streetbike, mx bike, or quad. Its only a matter of time before 2-strokes are forced out of production.

I agree with Stephen, a great sled. Some guys are getting carried away though. Nikolai...You must have got the pick of the litter, because none of the Nytros I have seen will hang with an M8, Rev 800 XP, or the Dragon 800 in the deep mountain riding that we do. BUT..... I knew this when I got mine. Dollar for dollar I am about $200.00 more than all of my guys riding modded M1000s.

A great sled. The start of a new revolution. <-That is a PERIOD.

I wouldnt buy a nytro this year wait till they come from factory with a decent track under them.Unless money isnt a concern you have to pretty much replace everything to make them a decent mountain machine. At least with the apex i didnt have to upgrade the track.

MOB sold his M7 for one, yes he is a dumbA**, but I hear now that no one will ride with him anymore,, they are tired of pulling on his skis and pulling out there shovel!!!!

I'd be far more concerned with how the thing lives and any unchangable handling characteristics.

Stupid simple things like a track that while handling the needs of 90% of the consumers it was designed for still leaves the other %10 seriously wanting and a running board setup that just SUCKS don't make a sled a dud.

HOLY crap the "GREAT M" of a few years ago had the worst single use factory track in the history of sledding and running boards from the 70's. So what guys bought thousands of them put a few bucks into making them right and love them dearly. The new Dragon comes as close to a purpose built factory box sled that covers it's intended design without consumer modifications but they still can be helped.

For cripes sake you bought the first of a model that had very limited consumer imput testing. You bought a sled from a manufacturer that smartly builds cross over balances for the masses not the limited use minority. Throwing a few bucks in aftermarket to detail a sled to your agenda is the best you can expect. Nytro owners are lucky that Yamaha puts out such a fine machine with such exceptional quality control. There are other first model year runs that are wreaking havoc in much more serious areas then a crappy mountain track and super slick wide running boards that trap forty pounds of ice.

Buy a track that suites your riding interests and buy some Better Boards and go enjoy an excellent all around machine and consider yourself both lucky and or smart. You could be the owner of an XP and have way worse issues!

I Think This Sled Was Built For Guys Like Me. I'm 53 With A Bad Knee, I Ride With 30 Year Olds And Have Only Been Riding For 4 Years. On My Third Ride With My Nytro I Became A Different Rider. I Now Can Keep Up With The Younger Guys And For A Lot Longer Even In Deep Powder I Don't Get Tired Near As Fast. It Won't Go Up The Steep And Deep Near As Fast As My Buddies Summit, But This Sled Never Gives Up And Except For The Lousy Front Shocks You Can't Beat The Handling. I Now Have More Confidence When Boondocking In Powder Cause I Know I Have Quicker Response To Most Situations That Arise. So If Your Young And Want To Go Mach 2 Up The Shoots With Your Hair On Fire Don't Count On A Stock Any Thing To Get Your Jollies. If You Want A Reliable, Easy Riding, Quick Responder That Will Get You Just About Any Where You Want To Go Then Nytro Is Your Sled.

How Long Did It Take You To Capitalize The First Letter Of Each Word, Cause This Is Taking Me Forever.;)

well I would like the 4 stroke life.

anyone not happy with there Nitro I have a 08 XP with extras and now clutched that it realy can go. and would be willing to do a trade for a Nitro let me know if intrested! strait up no $.

ok! lets take a little trip in time! 5-6 years ago a sled with 138hp and a 153 track would have been a mod sled? so where do you guys think this sled shouldnt be rated as a climbing mtn sled? when i had my mtn max 700 with a 141 track piped, ported and all the mods, what maybe 135-140 hp? i rode at all the same spots we are today! so dont give me this oh its a low hp sled and was designed to be a 600cc, wont climb! what a joke! just face up! it aint the great sled you hoped it was going to be! and as for being a 600 class sled? what 600 has 138hp? none! a700 dragon 137hp, put it in that class where it should be and watch it get a real beating!
...

Aren't you riding a turbo yami in your picture?

:confused::confused:
