I've served on US Carl Vinson, United States Navy. Launced air craft off the flight deck in first gulf war, an experience I wouldn't trade for anything. Anyone else that has served, thank you for your service. It's people like you that make this country great!:beer;
 
Unfortunately I was turned away due to Athsma.

My buddy served on the Carl Vinson and the Constellation just after the first gulf war.
 
USAF 79-87 Don't regret the time. Grew up alot, but don't regret getting out after 8 either. Thanks to all who have served!

Marines - 1995-99 was a ground pounder and my thoughts are this : I wouldnt take a million dollars for what I did and learned but on the other hand I wouldnt do it again for a million . Thanks to all who are and have served.
 
Vietnam 1st, Cav 1st/9th. 68-69, grunt carried an M-60. No regrets. Made a man of me. Respect my "freedom" tenfold. Please, McCain & Palin!!!!

AIMD SEAOPDET Cecil Field starting working in the tire and wheel shop. Broke my leg riding a horse and wound up on limdu. Went to VS-27 at Cecil Field to rehab. Then onto VFA-136 at Cecil Field also. Took USS Geo. Washington out on her maiden cruise. Nothing like a summer Med. cruise!!!!

Reserves - AIMD SEAOPDET USS Abe Lincoln at Whidbey.
 
US Amry, MOS 11B (Infantry)... I was an m60 machine gunner, my job was simple, walk thru the woods and kill people with extreme predjudice... i was well suited for that job!!! I was in during first gulf war but we never got called for combat...
 
84-88, US Army, Crypto repair, living the easy life on top of some hill supporting the comms people and then cutting grass and doing police call in garrison. Ft Riley, KS, 1st Infantry, 121st sig corp, HQ......the whole time, with exception of 2 months in germany, in the field, ft dix for basic and ft gordon for ait. oh and then desert training in cali....travel the world...blah blah blah.....had a good time and would do it over in a heartbeat.

Thanks to those that replaced me and continue the mission and of course those that preceeded me.

PS Charleston, SC is the worst place to be in the world when hurricane named Hugo comes thru.
 
Never served in the airforce or army but I was in the cadet program for 6-7 years. Right now I'm having thoughts about going back and inlisting for medic or to work in a overseas hospital for the canadian military.

Have 3 friends serving in Shilo MB and are just finishing their training up.
