I have just enough on me so it isn't worth while for my wife to cause me to have an accident:D I have enough on my wife so she knows that she better not make me mad so that I cause her to have an accident:D

Seriously though. 100k on each one of us and I have 2.5 times my wage at work provided by them. Everything we own is paid for and no kids at home or college so don't feel we need anymore than that.

I don't have any, but I'm single. But my hubby's life insurance helped me start my life over. So if you have a spouse or kids, please, please get some.

$800k personal and $100k through my employer, and I also have a personal long term disability plan that matches my income since most employer plans don't cover getting hurt off the job. Any of you that don't have one of these might give it some thought, especially if you're in a trade that requires you to be physically capable...the bills will pile up if you're sitting at home with a broken leg, back, etc, plus if it's a life altering injury, you get paid for life.

my wife does have some thru work. not sure how much but probally enough to cover the funeral. i checked around probally going to get whole life plans

You might want to think of a combination of term and whole life. Usually the recommended amount is 10-15x your annual income, depending on how old the children are. I would recommend a higher term than whole life, it will get you higher coverage during the time you need it, say the next 15-20 yrs, depending on your mortgage, and your childrens' ages. Then supplement with a small permanent policy that will stay with you forever.

Let me know if you have any questions. It is what I do for a living!

My boss has me on a $750k balance just recently because he's forcing me out to the coal mines to deal with 180kv DC systems and 4160VAC primary temporary power everywhere :face-icon-small-dis I have to pay for half of the monthly, but, my life expectancy is way down now since most of the crap out on these open pit coal mines is on chicken switches and 3 position switch gears. Hate it. I have a personal of $400k that I pay. 50% of a 750k life insurace package is more exspensive than 100% of 400k. Makes no sense to me......... im worth more dead than I am alive
