I broke mine, got a stronger replacement from Wildchild and never looked back, he made it longer so I don't need a riser.

Someone told me to drive another peice of tubing inside of the hollow post, but I don't think that's the weak part, I think that it is the hoop that comes up on either side of it from the bulkhead that needs to be reinforced, might look at running a strut or two back down to the bulkhead, I've got to get something figured out as well!

I broke mine. The stock design is bad. At the time I replaced it with the same part from doo, same bad design, but I don't own it anymore. I wouldn't add a riser with out some serious reinforcement or aftermarket upgrade.

I've had a 6 inch riser block plus atleast 2 inches of rise in my bars and haven't had it break. (YET) I've known people that have taken a solid metal rod the same diameter as the hole in the steering post and drove it in and welded it, seems to work pretty good. I'm just waiting for my to break then I'll get an after market on. The whole idea of pulling the motor just for the steering post makes me wait.

I screwed up the first time putting it in, the second time it only took me about 20 - 30 minutes to change.

no need to pull the motor, it can be done with it in the chassie.....get a pice of stock, drill four holes in the post where the stock is going, put the stock inside the post plug weld the holes, and weld the top of the post/stock together. I do this to all my sleds and have yet to have a post break (knock on Wood)

Thanks guys for all the replies, aksnow thats a good idea and thanks sturgis sledder I eventually give wildchild a pm in the future and have him make me one. I do like the idea aksnow has, will probably remove the post to do this mod don`t want to weld above or next to the fuel tank.

sturgis sledder, I seen a reply in some other post before showing your sled like that blue summit. and was curious of where about the Thing Can you have on it .

Is it good for all elivations? and where did you get one.
