Who else is hooked on watchin Barrett Jackson???

When does carrols shelby go on the block?? Anyone know what day and time....it will bring huge cash...all his cars do.

Not sure if I was watching a rerun 2 weeks ago but a original Shelby went for 5 million & was the largest sale in B/J history!

All I know is I wasted 1 hour of my life lastnight watching B/J try to sell the crap made on Monster Garage.

I think the economy is playing into some of these prices. Usually alot of this stuff goes for bigger money. The rare stuff will as always go for big bucks but some of these customs are going for far less than it cost to build them. The custom choppers are going cheap far under what they cost to build.

It's fun to watch the american muscle cars go for big money and the european supercars barely break $100k. I remember watching a mint white Lamborghini Countach go for $40k and a Ferrari like the one on Magnum PI couldn't get an opening bid at $20k.

Wonder what the heck Ron Pratt does for a living... He just bought that Tony Stewart race car. Class act by him and TS......

Is that the guy who sits in the front and buys car after car?? Wow he spends money like its toilet paper.....his collection must be unreal....does he display it or have a website?? This is the guy that is clean cut and wears a baseball cap all the time??

If this is accurate, they spell his name with an E at the end - and he also bought the supersnake for 5 million last year, so I guess 300 k is like lunch money...

This is from Yahoo Answers -

who is Ron Pratte?

Secretive, for sure. The Chandler, Arizona, man who submitted the $5 million winning bid for Carroll Shelby’s Supersnake Cobra has consistently refused media interviews, including to our editors. But he certainly knows what he wants and has the means to get it via the red-hot housing market in the American Southwest - specifically Phoenix and Scottsdale. As stockjockey over at the underthecounter blog points out, Ron owns Pratte Development Company, Inc., “one of the nation’s largest wood framing and concrete foundation companies.” So he builds houses for a living. In one of the fastest-growing areas of the country.

And while many in the car collector hobby know of Pratte mostly from last year’s $4.1 million purchase of the Futurliner bus, he’s no newcomer to the Mustang and Shelby scenes: He also bought the first Shelby GT500 last year for nearly $650,000.

Wow, the housing market down there must be unreal. There isnt too many contractors I know that could afford to buy a 5 million$ car alone, not to mention throwing a 4.1 million$ but in on top of that.

BTW... he has also purchased the three new mustangs up for sale too. I think they all went for $600,00 each.... Basically he has #1 produced of any new model mustang....

Okay, the auction thing is interesting and some of the stuff is pretty cool, but after an hour of it I am about ready to see something move. For crying out loud, the channel is SPEED. I want to see something race. Right now there are sleds racing cross country, snowcross, drags, hillclimb and oval, but we get to watch the checkout stand at the rich guys Wal-Mart?

Come on, its SPEED!! Show me some racing! At least show me those fancy collector cars driving.....

Anchorman, did you see Tony Stewart do a burn out onto the stage last night????? hahahaha

OMG... If I was a lottery winner, I would have paid whatever it took to by the Richard Childress, Intimidator car. That car was sweet, not to mention the Daytona 500 winner motor... thats just sick..

Outlaw, I missed it. In fact, until tonight I haven't watched any Barrett Jackson this year. I'm just waiting for speed week to start. I already have my tickets for Vegas and I'm taking my son. I can't wait!

That 69 Camaro was total Clean AWESOMENESS!!! I figured with all they gave away with it--it would have sold for more!!

How about the 63 corvette concept car---1.3 mill---Sick

Or the 08 ford shelby500KR--one of a kind for 630,000--I think--it was sick--even for a new car--But Carroll had to throw in his hat to make the deal.

Where the heck does all this mmoney come from?? I saw a guy last night buy a bunch of cars like it was nothing--of course they were keeping his drink full I noticed also--LOL
