who drives alot for work and now have a higher MPG car?

I put over 100 miles a day on.
Got rid of my Dodge dakota and picked up a grand am.
Went from 16mpg to 29mpg. Cost went from 250 a month (that was when gas was 2.60 a gallon) to 170 a month now. I don't even want to think what the cost would be if I still drove the dakota.

I got my liberty crd that gets an average of 24, even towing my one place up and down the pass a couple times a week. I will be going to the KLR pretty soon, and I have been looking for a bicycle too. Much better than my 90 full size blazer. That thing got 11.9 mpg (calculated) going down hill, following a semi, with a tail wind.

I drive about 30k miles a year with my 2005 Golf TDI. I have a lifetime average of about 42 MPG. I have seen as high as 50 and as low as 38.

Too bad diesel is 20% more than gasoline right now.

I get around 15 mpg with my work vehicle.

I drive a Geo Metro that gets 38in town and 48+ on the road. The only time I use the truck is to tow or go hunting. For every mile that you put on a high gas mileage beater that's one less that you put on the truck or suv thus saving gas and cutting down on the depreciation of the truck. Ken.

I was driving my own rig for work the past two years on occasion and would get reimbursed. I started looking into it and simply said I'm not doing this anymore as the reimbursment rate don't cut it most of the time if you are hauling or driving a truck (which we needed). I proposed to the company to buy a service truck/company truck or my truck and let me get something new. It worked out pretty good as I would be livid right now if I still had my diesel.

I can't say my mileage is any better but I know the whole package is much cheaper day in and day out.

I commute about 90 miles round trip...had to park the Cummins, was costing $100 a week to commute. I bought a used Grand Prix, gets around 26. I wanted a Jetta TDI, but da*m they go for an arm and a leg these days. I saw some used, newer ones for $20k. Too much for a used car regardless of mileage.

Anyone on hear drive a Pious? I saw a commedian say something about one the other day...

What sound does a Prius make when it drives by?

iiiiiiiimmmmmmmmGGGAAAAAAYYYYYyyyyyyyyyyyyy (to the sound of doppler effect)

I'm puttin' on 150mi/day between the commute and around the jobsites. I'd be up shiiiit's creek if my company didn't provide the truck and fuel card. Put about $75 in the tank every other day. 15mpg kills, glad they don't make me drive a Prius though!
