Who do You Ride With and Where do You Go?

Karen and I ride every weekend that there's snow. We travel a lot and really enjoy the sport for everything it has to offer. Travel, friends, familly and the companionship. We take the kids a least once a year if not twice to a place where we can have a big cabin and everyone can ride as much or little as they like. We have 5 sleds and 3 of them only get used 3 or 4 times a year, but it worth every penny. Good thread.............

I've been riding since I bought my Skidoo Olympique 340! Used to ride all night, back in IL when I was a kid.
Now I ride probably 70% with the family, 30% with buddies.
We're fortunate enough to finally live right in the middle of some of the best riding in the country....Flattops right across the road!
Kids are 3 and 6 this year. Both have been riding with us since less than a year old. They're either in the snowcoach or hanging onto the "O Sh!t" handles riding up front. Both of them want a sled, but I know they'll want to take them with and I don't want to be hanging in the parking lot all day watching them do laps on a 120! (Now if the right deal came along, Santa might bring them a 120!)
I got my wife into riding right after we got married and she's been at it for about 10yrs now and loves it!
Couldn't imagine doing anything else in the winter! I haven't skiied or snowboarded for 3-4 years now.
We even kept the sleds when I got xferred to Arizona. Made some trips to the White Mtns and Cedar City Utah, and at least one trip a year up to Grand Mesa or the Snowies.

I ride with the same 2 guys all the time. The three of us bought a enclosed trailer together last year and the sleds pretty much stay loaded. It makes it nice to split costs and almost always have the same people traveling. You get used to who takes care of what. But I would also say that 80% of the time my Dad is along and it's great to still be able to ride with him 10-15 times a winter. Any trips we take are always the same guys. I have taken my wife riding but she is not a fan of the cold. She loves to ride ATV's so for now the Sledding is my getaway. We get in a few trips a winter, but mostly we are up at the cabin which is near the Canada Border.

We have a core group of 6 people. We're all pretty good friends, and ride compatibly. half are in their 60's, and the rest are in their 40's. We're not the craziest group out there, and we're no rasmussen / burandt team, but we get the job done. We get out and explore, and enjoy the wilderness, and we all enjoy a good challenge, but we usually keep everything within its limits.

I've ridden since I was a little kid, but got really hooked about 6 years ago. The most important thing is having someone to ride with when you want to ride, so we've finally got a good group with everyone who is loyal to the group, and happy to be together, and that just makes snowmobiling funner.

Dad and Dale have been friends since they were kids, and then there's me and Jim (M7Rocks), and Dales kid Kieth, and his wife Brenda (she rocks).

i mostly ride with my dad and my younger brother, but when we're riding in MN, my mom comes with a lot. out west, though, we've got 2 main groups. one is my dad's buddy and his friends, and the other is just my younger brother & our friends. been ridin' my whole life, and i'm never gonna stop. :beer; :beer;

Who is your daddy and what does he do!

I mostly ride with coworkers, friends, the kids I film with, whoever happens to be out at launching site, or sometimes I just charge down the trails with the pups in tow after hours. I'm hoping to get my girl into sledding this upcoming season.

Get stories, love to hear how everyone spends there time.
It’s the reg that’s cost us the most we have to reg them in Idaho and Utah current economy and increasing cost of sleds we have limited our self’s down to 4 we use to have 7 sleds sold two last week end and we are replacing them with a new 09 M-8 so we will have 4 really nice sleds to go out on with friends and family if they don’t have their own. so in the family we will have an (05 M7) (07 M8) (08 M1000) and the new 09 M8 and a kitty cat,

Our family is still a priority ; We go with family our children and their spouses. and we even have a sled the kitty cat in the garage for our new grandson his 6 month old now. Can’t wait to get him up there with us. Well give him a year or two,
sometimes coworkers, we all rent some cabins and get together and go it’s fun.
My husband and I go just about every weekend together. we have some friends a group from two to Six, it’s a pretty craziest group, you can’t keep track of where anyone is, We play where’s waldo all day,
Only way we know everyone is ok is you just listen for their sleds you can hear them up on the mountains playing if you don’t we know someone is stuck, we try to stay together but the guys disappear, you never know where they are, our two best friends are just like us we boat and sled and ride ATV’s together, we are so lucky to have them, been best friends for over 25 years. Our age group is 45 to 52 and we are still ripping it up, we are not trail riders we love playing in the back country powder we love our Utah mountain we are so lucky to have them, our friends have a cabin right at hardware ranch and the trails from there go around to Monte Cristo, Hardware Ranch, Tony Grove and Logan Canyon Cache Valley connected with Idaho's trail system, which extends from the Bear Lake Valley up into the Yellowstone area. Adventurous sledders can ride almost forever They are groomed and provide excellent riding conditions through canyons, up mountains and into bowls and play areas. We have so much fun. We cant wait……

I mostly ride with sledhed, bluefluff, turboshorty and redrevrider. These guys let me tag along about 8 years and I'm still tagging along. We share the same riding styles and all about the same age. No alcohol when riding. Always willing to help out the other either on or off the sled and we are all willing to wait patiently while turboshorty catches up. :face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap

Got hooked on speed as a young kid in the 8th grade with a CR 125 and have never been able to shake the addiction. For me, the sled is the ultimate go fast toy. I love the rush of speed and the sounds and smells of 2 stoke power and the places we ride are beautiful beyond description.

My favorite place is Lincoln MT in April and May. Up and back in one day, warm weather, longer days, great hills, good snowmobile friendly town. Best place I've ever riden was Big Hole down by Wisdom MT....only been there 1 time but it's incredible. Place we ride most is Lolo Pass on the ID/MT boarder. Love to night ride but havent found the time in a while to go. I hope the kids get into it now that they are getting old enough to ride.

Borrowed the photo from Scott but this just hints at what's available at Cooper Creek.

I'm usually with either my wife and friends, or with my wife, father-in-law, and her uncles (and maybe one of my buddies too). Wifey got me into sledding, and even though the FIL is 75 and doesn't like to hit the stuff us youngsters do we still get out and have a good time. 95% of our riding is in WA's beautiful Methow Valley.
