i had a 04 800 doo. broke the top yoke/weld of the handlebars as i hit a bump. they spread apart about 1 inch. i was off balance looking into headlights as the lefty accelerated at full speed up the hill. i fell sideways, watching the sled speed uphill, sidehill then downhill full bore into a 6" tree just inside right ski. tore up right side pretty good. insurance totaled sled in 05. i wear the tether all the time now. i also wear a 2ft long extra lanyard to hook the sled lanyard too.
i also use the old windshield rubbers under the doo kill switch
