Whittier

I was in Whittier yesterday (Feb 26) and there was 5' to 6' of standing snow on the ground. The road to the trail head going up behind the Buckner Building wasn't plowed out like last year. There was no where to turn a trailer around if you had one. The wind was ripping bad there. You could hardly stand up in an icy parking lot. They are down about a foot or more from last year but should be good spring riding later. Just thought I would pass an update.

Avalanche outside Whittier has everyone stuck on the Whittier side of the tunnel right now. It has been snowing like crazy there the last few days. The DOT snow blowers can hardly blow the snow up over the banks right now.

We rode Whittier breifly last weekend. There was 15' more alders sticking up than last year. 1 foot less at the parking lot maybe, but just up the trail we are down 15'. Still time to catch up though, if the wind would just leave it alone. Jeff
