White Pass 11-12

Great riding this weekend. You had to put up with howling winds Saturday....oh, and blowing snow! Our tracks were gone in less than an hour all day Saturday.
Went up Soup Creek. Can't say I recommend coming from the Hwy 12 side as the snowpark was bare . . . and we had 6-8" of new at the cabin 7 miles SW of there. :face-icon-small-con Plus, the climb up is all South face, so between thin snow and 45 mph winds it was pretty tough. Coming down was worse and the snopark was just gravel and mud.
Once on top, it was nice, few meadows, but mostly tree riding. We had never been up that way, but will go back . . . when there's better snow down low!
Not sure who the two guys were that we talked to in the snopark, but we bumped into them off and on during the ride and they were nice folks.

Managed to pull a complete lap of Cashe Praire on one ski . . . and face plant just as I got back to where D was waiting . . . sigh.:face-icon-small-dis

Found a place with a nice view and pretty good wind protection for a lunch stop. If you ride a Pro and use a muffpot, you should look at 2fun4you's hood vents! (Fat Boy vents) they really make life easy for the muffpot!

All in all, a pretty nice day. Just windy.

It's too bad we missed you on Saturday Bag, The rest of us went up Pinegrass and broke trail most of the way :D (including into the parking lot which was NOT plowed and not easy dragging an enclosed trailer into :mad:)

Anyway, aside from the wind the snow was actually decent... drifted, but good. Mark and Mike headed down early as neither of them were feeling well:( and the rest of us kept going up to the meadows... I didnt take many riding pics, but here's a few

Had to unload the sleds just to get off the road with the snow piles not being cleared :face-icon-small-dis

The main snowpark had an 18-20 inch berm from the county road having been plowed more recently than the snowpark... and there was almost 8" of snow on the road also..... We didn't even attempt to enter the main parking lot towing the enclosed, the smaller parking lot was a little less, but still a challenge.

Later in the day I found a stash of powder... a little too big of a stash as it turns out:eek::D

All in all it was a fun day... not the greatest weather and not everyone was feeling the greatest, but at least we all got out to ride and made it back safe!:D:beer;

Looks like fun! We did not share the 'too much snow' in the snowpark problem!
I was pretty amazed at the differance in the snow levels between the two sides of the lake . . . pretty significant.
Too bad all ya'll weren't feeling good, viso was poor, but it was for sure a snowday, and if Snodawg was having trouble it must have been deep cause that guy can sure ride, and I see you pulled out the BigIron!
I'm sure we will hook up soon!
