CD,

I understand what your saying....... BUT......what determines strength of schedule? How do they figure one schedule is tougher than another? I don't get that. It is like the fiesta bowl that we won 2 years ago, we beat Oklahoma. That tells me that we were better than every team that Oklahome beat.....so where does the strength come in, just because someone said so?

:confused::confused::confused::D

And I'm nat taking away from ANY of the other teams, great team - look at their records!:beer;

Oh good lord - let's not get into a strength of schedule war again...who was that guy from a couple of years ago with the mullet?

BOOOOOOOIIIIISSSSEEEEEEEEEE

STAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE

Strength of schedule means what caliber teams did they play, for example Utah will have played three ranked teams where Ball State played none and BSU played one.

The Utes trip to the Fiesta Bowl they dismantled Pitt. I know cause I was there! I know what your saying Mnt. I just want all the non BCS teams to WRECK the anointed BCS teams.

Where's DaMan and Wendy when you need them??

Here fishy fishy:p

So what makes a "ranked" team? BSU has won their conference 6 out of the last 7 years counting this year. What criteria is to be ranked?? We've been in the top 25 the last three years and 2 of those in the top 10.

Yeah but you have to understand its hard for voters to give a team credit when they are playing the bottom teams of all division 1 football.. Im not taking away from Boise State and think they are a great team But its hard to judge if a team is elite when they beat up on school like you play in the WAC.... Who knows Boise state might be better than the top 10 teams but youll never know cause who they play each week...

Its hard to gain respect when you are not in a BCS conference... Boise state needs to be part of the MWC conference and hope they can then get an autobid to a BCS bowl for the conference.. That would be 4 top 20 teams in the same conference this year.. Thats better than any other conference besides the SEC and Big 12..

Utes are goin down this sat.. :) so Boise might get the BCS afterall

JB,

Totally agree, would love to see BSU in the Mountain West. Keeping the fingers crossed on that one.

Keeping them crossed on the BYU win also, that would be an awsome victory for them.

GO BYU!!!!!!!!!!!

Its so funny.. Boise state fans normally hate us almost as much as yewties do.. But now they are all pulling for us so they can get a BCS bid hmmmmmm.

PS it would be awesome to have BYU, UTah, TCU, and Boise state battling for the championship every year..

You might be suprised of all the orange and blue in the stands at your game:)

It's ok, you were probably rooting for us in the fiesta bowl. ;)

Best college football game I have seen in my life!! It would be hard to top that game.. I love to see the little guy crash the party!!

National Champions 2008-2009 Season :D

It would be cool to see Boise State get into a BCS game again this year. But in order for that to happen, Utah would have to lose to we whine U this weekend. Go Utes!

WHO IS THE BEST CANDIDATE:

Boise State "steamrolled" (RIGHT FROM ESPN) through a schedule including an almost impossible road win in one of the toughest environments (surprisingly outside of our own beloved blue turfed stadium) in college football. Pouring on scoring against one of the toughest defenses in the game (ranked top 10 at that point..including adding last seasons rankings since it was an early season game) while on the road battling the opposing defense and one of the best 12th men in the game. Alot was made that Oregon was depleted at quarterback well they were even more depleted after a run in with the physical Broncos and please note that BSU didn't win 10 to 7! They smoked Oregon at home and the final score wasn't even indicitive of how that gamed played. Boise State dominated Oregon on both sides of the ball. It was a HUGE HUGE WIN that they aren't even coming close to getting the value credit on due to the weak performance of the Pac Ten. It was surprise and it was an upset because nobody expected BSU to be all that strong with an unknown freshman QB, a totally new O-line, and half of the defense gone to graduation or the NFL. Well it was surprise and all they've done since is totally dominate everyone that they've played. They've made touted QB's want to sit out the game. They've made touted offenses perform at half of there standard numbers irregardless of their strong suite of running or passing. They've dominated special teams play. And finally they've owned the competition on take away margins.

Furthermore

Now also note the total dominance of Bowling Green fresh off of their upset victory over highly ranked and bowl bound Pitt. The win loss ratio of opponants for Utah and BSU is almost identical. Look at the win loss ratios after teams have played Boise State. Bad news for your boys as they are all beat up!

Two much is being made over the MWC strength and ratings. A squeeker by Utah over 23rd (but then unranked) Oregon State at home and then TCU getting destroyed by OK (which was called a "quality defeat" holy crap ha they got blown out and soonies second and third team played the entire fourth quarter) That is the conferences quality performances and other then that it's them playing over ranked them's.

The difference is that Utah has had the benefit of their most difficult challenges at home. We must also note that they barely survived two of those challenges (and looked terrible in both). They only won by nothing short of a couple of miracles or possibly the fact that neither TCU or Oregon State are really all that tough. Once again the benefits of meeting all three of your toughest competitors at home is a huge bias that has not been properly exposed. I strongly believe they would have two losses and I'd be looking at **** instead of blogging about this.

Now here is an additional tidbit....can you imagine BSU this season if Cady (LOCK DOWN ROOKIE STARTING O T FOR DENVER) and O Scandrick DB for Dallas don't leave early for the NFL. Now also note one of the most exciting receivers in the WAC got kicked off of the team (Titus) and they never got the chance to have him and Childs on the field at the same time. SCARY SCARY SCARY...

Utah gang you do not want the BSU program in your league...getting second third or fourth every year for ever is not a pleasant deal for your fandom! just ask any Fresno State follower. This was a building year! :eek:

Texas Tech in my opinoin, although im pulling for Utah to pull out BYU, I just think Texas tech will lay a 6 point spread over Oklahoma to pull it off

I have over $1300 in bets in the Alabama vs. Florida game. I am pulling for Alabama on an 7 point spread, although I have fears that Florida and Urban Meyer will pull it off. Deep down inside I think Urban Meyer is a pansy azzed coach and will lead his team in the wrong direction

in your poll Ron, I pull for the Utes to take this one home
and Boise State in a close second, but BYU is overrated

National Championship game will be Florida and Oklahoma.

Florida and Bama play in SEC championship, Florida Wins. Oklahoma beats TT this weekend, eventhough I would like to see TT win. Oklahoma wins Big 12 and onto National Championship...
