Which turbo kit to purchase

Hey guys

I am going to build a turbo D8 or D7 this year and wonder what you guys think is the best bang for your buck. I had an 08 M8 OVS Turbo with the aerocharger on it, got it running right and it was a blast. But I wanted to go back to the handling of the dragon.

So lets here it, the pro's and cons of which turbo to use this season.

Thanks in advance

Jeff

i really like the aerocharger set ups for simplicity
i got a BD pumper w/ intercooler though for ease of use while out riding
silbers kits look awesome too this year, alot of new parts

yes the aero was simple once I got everything setup correctly, it worked really well for boondocking and climbing. The only issue I had was when I turned to right in deep powder the M8 would bog but I think that was more an exhaust thing and not so much a turbo thing.

Thanks for the input

Jeff

Ive got a HM turbo's kit on a D8. The run a Aero. Really easy to tune and work on. simple. HM's kit has a water/air cooler that really works well. The kit is a bit spendy but I belive its the best on the market.

I prefer Aero over Garrett, because that is what i have on mine.

This being said, I would choose Silber (garrett) in a heartbeat over HM Turbos (aero)....this based on past experience with customer service issues involving HM. Silber goes WAY above and beyond with customer service from what i have both experienced and heard on the forums.

Bottom line...as long as your kit is from a reputable builder, and tuned properly, you will be delighted!!

Cheers!

the twisted turbo kits are working real well also, cant get better service than shane also, his phone is always on, i have called at 9pm at night when i ran into a snag and he will answer, doesnt get better than that for service i figure.

glad your going to the right guy..

i have not bought a turbo kit from Justin (Silber) but he is EXTREMELY great and helping me with part info, advice and is simply one of the best...

Derek at Attitude Industries has also been very helpful and can get you setup with a sick turbo kit as well...

nothing but great things to say about them both!

I think he just copy and pasted his post from the which turbo is best thread...lol Jeep is a unsatisfied customer.....but he did give props to HM! :face-icon-small-hap

so you feel you had gotten some chitty customer service, fair enough you have a right to be mad and post your opinion. but you seem h#ll bent on trying to run Justin's name into the dirt, and starting to come across as a douche

Ya I did because I didn't want to ruin roost's thread anymore. Why does everybody bash me? I got people from sweden ready to fly in and hang me on tree in my front yard all because I wasn't satisfied with my customer service

Probably because most us that have ever been unsatisfied leave it to one or two posts of a fast bash then drop it and move on. I myself see ya get what ya pay for too. Silber probably makes a decent kit but its half the price of everyone elses kit...gotta be a reason for it. Even if the customer service is top notch...which from 99.999% of what i have read and heard his is..I still think the kit is lacking. maybe im wrong though...nobody i ride with has one. we have 2-3 twisted sleds...a few BD kits...some turbo 4 strokes and my HM kit and i think my kit has had the least amount of issues out of all of them. As long as HM keeps makin turbo kits they will always have my business.

Kinda funny though that all your posts back in December all the way back to February 2010 never said anything but how great customer service was from Silber turbos. And how great the sled ripped once you got a reflash. Seems like you like to stir the pot. If you own a turbo sled you need to have some idea of how to tune on it, every sled acts a little different and everyone rides in different places.

WHAT????

Timbre,

You don't even own HM products. How can you keep bad mouthing HM when you have never bought anything from there? I work as a deputy sheriff in Missoula and happen to be in Shane's shop the day you called a couple of years ago. If memory serves me correct, you wanted tuning tips and help on someone else's product. I am pretty sure Shane helped you with that. Isn't the real reason you are mad is because he wouldn't tell you the cut of his special helix was? Didn't he help you with every other aspect of your problems, even though you bought your kit elsewhere? What is it with you people that persist on bad mouthing someone who has done nothing but try to help you? Man, get over it.
