Which Truck??

which truck?

I own a diesel performance & repair shop. Speaking from a completely unbiased opinion the 6.0 is not the reliable diesel truck of the big 3. Every 6.0 that we get in our shop has major amounts of pattern failures. The Duramax & Cummins are great trucks. If you want a rip around unloaded more car like ride go with the GM. If you are looking for a truck & want to tow the Cummins is the answer. The GM does ride a bit smoother, but the Cummins is designed like a true truck motor tow better & will stand the test of time.:D

Put another vote on the 6.0 ford being the biggest joke. I kid you not i ran a 90% freeway mile run with a tank of fuel pulling a 22 foot gooseneck cattle trailer. I weighed less than 20,000 lbs and got 7.5 miles to the gallon. Thank goodness for fuel a little off color. Can't go wrong with the duramax or cummins though. Put a set of air bags on the back end of a chevy and u won't notice the load behind it.

my friend has a 04 duramax and the only thing he has done to it is a 4" lift, 33" tires, and a chip. It Beats the living hell out of his buddies 04 ford. It’s also faster than his 2002 dodge. In it he had about $4000 done to the engine, just about everything imaginable.

Get a dodge or a chevy. both are great trucks. BTW, fords have the worst interior i have ever seen. The interior in my 57 Chevy is about the same and has just as many options.

I've had a '96 dodge 12 valve, a '99 dodge 24valve, an '04 Duramax, and now drive a 06' dodge.

While I like chevy's stock ride, and that tranny is pretty great, I was very disappointed in the Duramax. I had to put a Edge Juice w/attitude to get it to come close to what that '99 dodge had for power. I get vastly better economy with my dodge, AND way more power.

Hands down, Dodge is my personal preference.

If all these opinions on the 6.0 don't convince you, look into the legal history between International ( builds the 6.0 ) and Ford. Nothing but lawsuits over who will pay the massive number of serious failures, ford trying to back out of using the motor, etc.

My brother drives a 98 Dodge. We put on a few bolt on parts and it runs real strong, over 400 RWHP. New suspension, makes a big difference, but still not the ride of a Chev. If that doesn't concern you, great choice.

You can add all the power in the world to a Dmax with a plug in programmer, but the tranny becomes the weak link. It can handle more than enough to get you to the hills pulling over the speed limit the whole way.

Drive a Dodge and a Chev. You'll know right away.
