Which Truck??

Friend is looking at three trucks for sale
2003 Chevy 2500 HD 6.6l Diesel
2005 Dodge 2500 5.9L Diesel
2005 F-350 6.0L Diesel

What are the pros-cons of each. The F-350 is the one I have and he is thinking of buying it
Thanks

Jeez bud I'm not sure anyone on snowest will have a opinon on Diesel trucks sorry! hehe I've got the Dodge and no problems I love it.

5.9 all the way. First one I had put 365000 Miles on it and only change one gear in trany. I only got 140000 on this one and done nothing to it either.Best part is i get 21 mpg in it. The new 6.7 cummins dose not do so well though.

Agree

Im a die-hard chev man but i wouldnt go with the 03. 04-up seem to have less problems.

Cant go wrong with the 5.9 dodge.

My brother has the 03 and the computer is very finicky. (sp?) He has tried every after market chip/computer flash out there and has had very little luck. They work great for a while, but then out of the blue will start acting up and put the motor into engine protect mode...which means no power. When it does run though.. it is amazing. If your planning on leaving it stock, it's good to go. If you want incredible horse power and great mileage, look at an 04+. My .02.

The 6.0 ford will be bottom of the heap unless he is going on price alone than you should be at the top. hate to say it cause I own one too but its the painful truth.

I'm going to have to say Dodge as well. It's sad how many Dodges are in our work parking lot. I wanted to get something different just to be different. In the end, well...there's another Dodge in the lot.

Hands down DODGE!!! I have an 05 3500. Most of my friends have ford or chev and say they should have bought a DODGE. Can't go wrong with the 5.9 tried and true for a very long time now.

My family has a business that buys a "few" trucks here and there.

I had a 99 F-350, then got a 02, the 99 was a good truck, the 02 a pile. (both 1 tons, 99 was the crew cab, the 02 ext cab, w/ longbed on both)

First guy that said he wanted a Dodge 2500 we cringed, always Chevy and Ford ONLY to that point. We just didn't like the Dodge trans reputation.

He ended up getting that truck as a 2004 model, and it is easily the greatest truck we had bought up to that point. We've bought nothing but Dodge since.

That inline 6 with that new fuel system is so freaking smooth and quiet, just unreal. Love sitting in em and all ya hear is that turbo spooling up! :)

I still to this day can't believe I condone, or recommend a freaking Dodge truck, its taking over 4 years to shake!

i always heard bad things about the 6.0 as well...a good friend has an 03 6.0 6sp manual and that thing is pretty bad ***.....he had to replace the head studs (ford actually did this under warrantee with ATS studs none the less) other than that 80k no problems and the thing friggin rips with a innovative diesel programer and bullydog 4in strait pipe. he really likes it and the only complaint i have ever heard about it is the poor heater venting into the back seat. (4 door)
i personally like the 7.3l or the dodge.....manual of course.
