so wanting to buy some spindles for the wifes 755, and looking for input. i currently have the holtz on my 900 and love them, but have never had anything but those or stock. so just wondering if you guys have compared any(holtz, 09 stockers, timbersled etc.)?
also, can you put just the timbersled spindles on the stock a-arms, or do you have to buy the whole kit?

z-man, do you know if those spindles come with new bushings in them? holtz comes with all the hardware, what else would i need for those factory ones.
if all i need are just the spindles, that is a really good price.

Spindles usually come complete except mounting hardware wich interchanged on mine except top spindle bolt was to short? Easily checked on an online parts catalog (babbitts).

Other than aftermarket, you can go with 08+ Polaris spindles... much nicer than 05-06 styles and usually pretty easy to find for a decent price.

You do have to get a new upper bolt when installing on the 05's.

If you like the HOLZ style spindles......take a look at the Polaris IQR race spindles for 09 and 10 I believe. They are identical to the HOLZ. I have them on my 06 S/B and they bolted right on. Should be cheaper than the HOLZ as well.

thanks guys for the replys, i think im going to end up going with the 09 IQR spindles, since they are basically the same as holtz just cheaper. monster715 did you have to clearence the inside of the 09s for the a-arms like you do to the holtz?

I have a 06 700 with 2010 Plastics & Dragon Lower A-arms and the IQR spindles bolt right on...just installed tonight.

2 things I noticed.....1 is a non issue but the other has me scratching my head.

  1. The upper spindle bolt is way long for the IQR spindle, when torqued to spec, there is a full inch of exposed threads beyond the nut. But like I said, its a non issue.
  2. Looking at the sled up on the lift, it looks like the camber of the spindles is extreme. I'm not sure there will be enough adjustment room at the rod ends on the upper A-arms, I guess I'll have to wait til I set the rod in the spindle ski hole and actually measure it. Visually, it just looks way out of whack.

I know with my holtz spindles, i barely have enough adjustment on the upper rod end. could actually use a hair more to be perfect, but it is pretty close. hopefully youll be able to get it to work. im a little ways out from ordering a set, so let me know how those turn out. Thanks

Yeah, you're not kidding. I had to let out the inside radius arm nut until it was flush with the end of the radius arm bolt to get it. And yeah, If I had another 1/8" of radius arm bolt left, it would be perfect.

In looking at it now, it looks like I'm definitely going to have to shorten my steering to get 1/8" toe out. They are pretty much all the way in now and there's a lot of adjustment needed to get the skis to even, much less toe out.

Any Ideas??

OK, I'm stumped! :face-icon-small-con

  1. I got the IQR spindles on
  2. Put my 45" piece of 1/2" copper ( 5/8" OD ) thru the spindle hole.
  3. Adjusted my upper spindle bolt all the way until it was flush with the nut and got the measurement to a little over 2 1/2" which is a bit more than the 2.46" per spec in the manual.
Just installed the skis and is it just me........or does that look just wrong.

In my eye, thats way too much negative camber. I've had my sled up on the stand dozens of times and never noticed that much negative camber.

At first I thought my 2006 upper A-arms were too short for the new 2010 dragon lowers A-arms, but I cross checked parts numbers and its the same.

Has any one else had issues like this installing the IQR/Holz style spindles?

It's also very obvious that I am going to have to shorten the steering rods to get the proper toe out of 1/8"

Am I missing something?

The 2009 -2011 IQ-RMK spindles are also top notch choices if you can find them. (the 2011 600 RMK was the IQ chassis as well)

The "street price" on the Race Spindles are about $240 for the pair.. but I'm not sure that they are made any longer.
1823560 & 1823561 are the part numbers, RH/LH.

The Holz spindles are no longer available.

The new spindles on the PRO...they will "FIT" ... but I do NOT believe that the geometry is correct for the IQ Chassis.

2112... are you positive that the bushing and the tie rod end are on the correct side of the spindle arm?

There are different combos for this.

Not sure what you mean.

Please explain

correct me if i am wrong, but when your sled is on ground the suspension will osculate upward and camber will adjust much more square to ground.

If the spindles had a positive camber (top of spindles pointed outward), then I can see what you're saying happening. But now, as the A arms move upward, it's going to exaggerate the existing camber

i got 08 spindles on way for my Fusion 05'... I think i will have same problem.. Anyone know what the fix is for this camber issue ?

Many have donne this,, there has to be a certain year top ball joint to buy which has longer threads .. ?
