which sled deck?

For those of you running sled decks - can you pull in your garages with a sled on?

I have a short bed Duramax with a 6" lift. The bed rails are exactly 60" high plus my Pro is 51" plus about 6" for the deck. That's a few inches shy of 10'. Wondering if anyone has a similar setup and how tall the doors need to be.

Also, what about towing a trailer with a deck on?

It seems pulling a camp trailer in the summer with the ATV's loaded wouldn't be a problem. However, I am guessing it would be with an extension carrying sleds or a UTV. (I don't want to trade the camp trailer for a toy hauler or buy a long bed truck)

I realize that's a loaded question but I am building a house and wondering if my garage door will be tall enough at 10'. I have a short bed Duramax with a 6" lift. However, it seems pulling a trailer with sleds or a longer UTV would require a deck extension and therefore a hitch extension that may not be safe. Probably your best bet for towing a trailer with sleds on the deck would be to either have the tongue of the trailer extended, or get a super hitch with a truss style extension as folks with campers use. As for teh garage door... you'll just have to try it... if it doesn't fit, get rid of your lift kit;) My '02 F-350 W/ 33s on it and sleds on the deck is 9'-6" tall, no lift, only a front end leveling kit.

I plan on buying a deck and pulling a bumper tow travel trailer with it. I will be using the super hitch with the 48" extension. With an equalizing hitch, this system is rated for 12000lb tow capacity, and 1200lb tongue weight. I will be using a 2007 GMC 2500HD Duramax 6'6" bed (with airbags) and a full lotus manufacturing extreme deck. I figure 48" extension should give me plenty of room. LOL this is going to be one long setup, but should work good... I hope haha

There is absolutely no way you will fit under a 10' opening with sleds on the deck. We have 12' doors that barely clear the handlebars here. Granted that is an 8" lifted dodge on 37's but not 2' of distance worth. We also tow trailers all the time with the deck. With just the deck on and not loaded the only thing we cannot do is turn too sharp, it wants to poke the side of the deck through the V of the trailer, with sleds on, we opted to have an extra 36" of tongue built into the trailer….

Thanks Christopher for posting the link to SLM!

Already answered, but just to reiterate - hell no. I have a stock 3/4 ton Dodge (2004), and I don't think IT fits in my normal, suburban-hell garage.

It'd be an UNUSUALLY tall garage door to get a stock truck in with a sled on the deck; I know there are garage doors that would be considered "normal" that my truck would get in (just the truck), but the sleds add another 2', if not more.

Nothing even resembling a normal garage door is going to do it.

I can get my leveled Dmax CCSB with a deck and sleds through my 10' high door with inches to spare. I'm running 33" tires.

I think you're SOL.
