Which quad to buy?

Hey everybody,

I am looking at buying a new quad. I have it narrowed down to two.

2008 yamaha raptor 250
or
2009 can-am 250 ds

I dont know which one would be better.

4 stroke or 2 stroke?

If anybody has one of them please tell me how they like either one. Any info would be greatly appriciated.

why ride a quad when you can ride on 2 wheels?! Get 250 four stroke and enjoy the hill and a lot more trails in the hills on the bike!

my first thought when i saw thread title was "The one with two wheels".

buy the one that has the best dealer support

after a bit you will want more power then the 250 though might recommend looking at a bigger quad

I would go bigger then you think you need, you dont have to go as fast as the machine goes but it sucks when the machine wont go as fast as you want to.

yeah that is true. i test drove a can-am 450 today and it had a lot of power and speed. but i just dont want to get into trouble with it or hurt myself.

personally i would get a 400 or 450 you always want more power than youll need

Once again buy my 400ex save your money for gas! if you dont want a ex get a 450r lots of power and room to add on!

If you're only looking at the 250cc size I would definatley buy a 2-stroke....

Why not go with a 450?

I understand your concern about buying to big of one, but you will not regret it and you'll own it alot longer. I had that raptor 350 and its still fairly quick but not near what would equal fun.. Lack of torque...etc.. If you dont think you can ride a 400 responsibly I wouldn't recomend you get any quad.

Yeah honestly if you are gonna buy a 250cc sport quad, I'd almost say get a 250cc dirt bike ... it'll be a lot faster than a 250cc quad ...

If money is the issue, maybe look at buyina 2005-2006 450 sport quad...

I have an 07' YFZ450 that I've done a couple mods to, and it's fast, but even with the mods it's still not as fast as a dirt bike ... that extra 100 pounds is killer

It's fun though ... but I'd say if you're an adult go with the 450 for sure.

DONT GO TOO SMALL OF CC !
You WILL out grow the power very quickly.
My 11 year old daughter is rippen it up on moms Zuki LT 400.
Soon to be hers when I get my KTM 525.
There is a 4-6 lb diff from their 250cc is all. Wider, longer,more stable.
Theres always the throttle stop if your scared of yourself.
