Which pipe and can?????

I have the bmp pipe + trail can, and pvc with timing control, dynotech 91 none eth. Map. Love this set up, sled is very strong. I tryed just the bmp pipe and would get det. Even in eth mode, and it was in the top rpm after about 15-20 second full out.

I am selling my SSI pipe mod and Power Commander V with the ignition module and 2 map switch for the handlebars if anyone is intetested. My pipe mod has the heat shield on it. I am considering a turbo so I will not need the pipe and fuel controller anymore.

fuel mapping

The pipe mod makes more power and needs fuel.
The only reason the DET would come on is because the fuel map is too lean and simply needs more fuel. We have found that the dynotech map is too lean for high altitude applications in many cases. Plus the 4 degrees of added timing in the mid range can be a bit much on some pump gas fuels.
If you are fine is ethanol mode, but would like to run in premium mode, than you have to richen up the map by 2-3 points. Especially at 7750-8500 rpm.
Also, the maps from Dynotech were run with a stock muffler. With an additional lightweight muffler added you will typically have to add 1 more point to the fuel map.
When we add our billet head we have another map as well since it makes more power yet.
If people need help with mapping, please email me at erich@speeshopinc.com

I am running SSI pipe mod into a Diamond S Quiet muffler with a PCV w/ Ignition module. I haven't got the mapping down right yet. I am running the the DTR non ethanol map for that setup. I am still getting a detonation code at WOT occasionally. It makes good power. I am running Belly Buster 66 gram weights with Carl's helix in the 42 ramp. It will pull 8500 RPM and more on the trail and 8300 RPM in deep snow pulls. Now, if I can get rid of the detonation issues, I will be a happy camper. It doesn't detonate in the ethanol mode but I would like to run it in the non ethanol mode. The SLP pipe works really well and no controller needed. I would probably do that if I was starting over.

Install complete, hope to test tomorrow! Left existing clutching intact, curious to see rpm gained...

Took the BMP pipe off today and ran the SSI, it would DET on wot pulls up hills. Switched back to Ethanol and no detonation at all the rest of the day, actually felt like it picked up some RPM's as well.

Switched from SSI pipe to SLP running into my Diamond S can. It ran flawlessly all day yesterday in the non ethanol mode. The SLP pipe is foolproof and makes good power throughout the rpm range. I havea PCV with ignition module and two position map switch for sale if anyone is interested.

Short test and tune on the BMP pipe into SSi Ti can with DTR's non-timing map (holy acronym's, Batman..)
Early returns promising, was a quick rip, to see if things would hold up.
So far, so good. Picked up about 250-300 RPM. Over-revving now, recall showed some 8450, two or three 8500's, and one 8600!:face-icon-small-sho
Going to toss some weight at it, and try and bring it back down to the 8250-8350 mark on a consistent basis..

Nice mid-range snap tho !

I rode Kurt's Polaris 2017 yesterday.
His geardown kit, clutching and a Diamond S can.

That can was awesome. Sounded ALMOST stock.
It was quiet.
It's very small.

That sled HAS to be under the 400lb dry mark.

Do you know what the can weighed?

Be careful of cans as most don't pull good cfm, and that usually means loss of power.

For the guys running the Bikeman Pipe and can without a fuel controller, how well is that working ????????

I could not run the bmp pipe with out a fuel controller or pipe resistor. It was good up tell full out for more then 10 seconds and then would det. Even in eth mode.

I had no DET running the BMP pipe and Skinz Super Q, w/o a controller or the resistor. I ride above 9000 ft.

A lot of guys running the dynotech maps on the pcv have to realize that was tuned on a 15 axys. The 16 axys has 3-4% less fuel from the factory. This will make that map lean by that %. You have to add fuel to even things up or you still get deto. Not everyone may have that problem but just an fyi.

Finally had the chance to run this BMP/SSI combo platter, all stirred with the DTR PCV map.

Ran like a champ. Smooth idle, no burbles or hiccups all day. Once it spooled up to about 5800 rpm it pulled like crazy, noticeably stronger than stock.

Ran against a buddy with same self as me, 16 Axys 155x2.6, and he would pull me by a sled and a half.. Turned the tables and had him by 2 lengths, so wasn't just "mental HP" gain. Super happy with results! Only change I'll make going forward is going to either stock, or Diamond S can, as there was a recall on the SSi.

Now that the season is drawing to an end, anybody else have feedback on the BMP pipe / can combo or the SLP pipe / can combo ????

I'm looking at pulling the trigger on one of these setups, just cannot decide on which one!!

Nope, was tuned with a 2015 and 2016 axys 800's and how did you arrive at 3-4% leaner between years??

I sent my pipe in and had the SSI pipe-mod done to it after reading many good reviews. I'm going to be running it with a BMP Powderlite can. I'm going to try and run it without the resistor first, but keep it with me in case I start experiencing DET issues, then I'll just slap it in. Won't get a chance to ride it this year but next year will be fun for sure! LET THE SUMMER MOD GAMES BEGIN!
