Okay lets talk exhaust for the new Axys. What is everyone running and what is everyone seeing with the following ??

Bikeman pipe
SLP pipe
SSI pipe mod
SSI Stainless pipe
SSI Titanium pipe

What kind of performance you seeing?
Clutching?
Running a Fuel controller?

Any feedback would be great!

I don't think anyone has run the ssi stainless or titanium pipes yet as they haven't been released. They are identical to the pipe mod but different material.

Bikeman and ssi have a connection so I would think the pipes would be very similar.

pipes

I've ran SLP, SSI Mod and Bikeman. All picked up a few hundred RPM's.

I bought the first generation SLP and it cracked, it is the lightest I ended up getting rid of it.

Bikeman pipe weighs in at about the same as stock, runs well and I feel holds the heat in well.

I have the SSI mod pipe and it is more prone to DET than the BMP or the SLP.

Running a Dynojet Fuel Controller. MDS weights.

Currently running the BMP pipe, I added their Hi-Alt head and playing with maps. Started out with an intermittent mid range DET, added fuel in that range and it is gone.

Yesterday was very hard powder (Belt blowing powder!) and it did DET twice at WOT. Added a couple numbers up top and that should do it.

Running pump gas 91 in the non-eth mode...above 9000 ft.

Adding the head and adjusting the TPS setting with the fuel controller has made the sled idle and run better than it ever did before. Power is super crisp. Gong to add the Durability kit pistons this summer and if I have an extra $700 burning a hole in my pocket may buy the Bullydog Tuner.

Awesome info!!!

I guess I wasn't paying close enough attention that the SSI wasn't out yet, my bad.

With regard to the Bikeman and SLP, did you run a fuel controller on both of those?

I know some guys don't run a fuel controller on the Bikeman and have had great luck??? As far as the SLP, I know they say, no fuel controller as well but any experience there?

Again, great info and thanks !!

I ran the BMP and SLP w/o fuel controller and/or resistor and it ran fine in ethanol mode.

I bought the fuel controller for a couple of reasons, ability to use it to set the TPS and to tune out the DET on the SSI pipe mod, I've since added the BMP head.

I'm tuning to the BMP setup right now, once that is dialed I may put the SSI back on and see if I can tell a difference.

This week I hope to be installing my BMP pipe and PCV with DTR's mapping, be putting it into an SSI Ti can..
IF work allows to get that task accomplished, hopefully get out over the long weekend and try er out!

Let us know how that works. My bro in law has an SLP pipe on his Axys and tried the SSI Titanium can and it did not work.

I have a SLP pipe, can, and clutch set up for sale. It is one of the later ones built. It has the x welds on the egt and is black ceramic coated. It has about 6 rides on it. It still looks new. Noticeable difference over stock. I am selling it if anyone is interested. PM please.

Feedback with this setup ?????

I am running SSI pipe mod into a Diamond S Quiet muffler with a PCV w/ Ignition module. I haven't got the mapping down right yet. I am running the the DTR non ethanol map for that setup. I am still getting a detonation code at WOT occasionally. It makes good power. I am running Belly Buster 66 gram weights with Carl's helix in the 42 ramp. It will pull 8500 RPM and more on the trail and 8300 RPM in deep snow pulls. Now, if I can get rid of the detonation issues, I will be a happy camper. It doesn't detonate in the ethanol mode but I would like to run it in the non ethanol mode. The SLP pipe works really well and no controller needed. I would probably do that if I was starting over.

I rode Kurt's Polaris 2017 yesterday.
His geardown kit, clutching and a Diamond S can.

That can was awesome. Sounded ALMOST stock.
It was quiet.
It's very small.

That sled HAS to be under the 400lb dry mark.

The reason you det in non eth mode is because the eth mode pulls timing on top. ( besides the obvious SSI product ;) lol )
Probably just a tighter pipe and maybe more suited for 10000' plus?
With how easy the eth/non eth mode is to switch i just switch to non eth over 5000' when my rpm drops a little.
In eth mode i run from sea level on up.
Pulls 8400 at sea level and 8200 at 5000'
Around 6500' its 8000 so i pop to non eth and pull 8250 again. I'm happy.

A2d motorsports clutching.

Just add fuel over 8000 rpm and it should tone it down.

Pretty impressed for just slapping a pipe on it. I put it on before coming out of break in mode. I didn't put any clutching in on my first ride with it. I do this because I want to see how many RPM I gain with performance mods. With the pipe I figured I got 350-450 RPM depending on snow. Got it very close to dialed for my clutching then it came out of break in mode. I feel like I got an adittional 200-250 RPM. Got the pipe holding 8300-8350 RPM with the clutching. Very impressed.

So the only reason I am selling is boost. Came off a boosted sled and realized for the little time we have in California it's worth it.

Do you have a link to this can?
Do you know the price on it?
Weight savings over stock "suitcase"?

There was a recall on the Ti cans, and they offered me either a new one (whenever they get built, going on 8 weeks or more) or a stainless with a credit for the difference. I chose that option. Most likely will go to a Diamond S can for next season, ran a BMP pipe into a Diamond S ti can with good results on my Pro last year...
