Which 09 M8 Should i get?

So i sold my 07 M1000 and am now looking at getting an 09 m8 holdover in the next couple of days. I wanted a lighter and more nimble sled which is the reason i sold my 1000 and the 09 m8 being over 50lbs lighter than my 07 1000 i think is the right choice. So now i cant decide which one. I can get an 09 m8 153 Snopro for 8700, a 153 standard for 8100 or a standard 162 for 8400. Im a bigger guy at 6'1" and 215. Any thoughts? I know the 153 powerclaw will probably do as well or better as my camoplast 162 on my 1000. iS the snowpro worth the extra money or should i go with the longer track? Thanks, Sean

are there any HCR's kickin around? your a bigger dude so i would definitely go with a SP or HCR. my HCR is retarded. seriously. big suspension, tons of pow, excellent boondocker, and just eats the steep. either way i dont think you wil be dissapointed. i high mark my buddies 162" 08 M1000.....routinely. the 153 is more nimble and climbs really well against the 162. good luck!

In pow the 162 will go farther. If you ride in heavier snow or setup go 153 and a hcr is ideal for those conditions. I go with the standard and spend the extra on mods I care about, I also don't like the floats up front. You could get the 153 std and through a slp pipe on for the same price as the SP and it would be a lot closer to the 2010 for power.

personally I like the Snow pro. Titanium springs, fox floats and the adjustable post is great. Although I bought the LE last year and only spent 8300. Put the SLP set up this year and 10 seat and Wow. " I Like It A LOT!" Talked to a guy today about porting. With that and the pipe should see around 170-175ish hp. If I go with the porting we are only talking total slp pipe, porting, seat and other misc items. 9800. Much less than what I was quoted on the 2010. That and an extra 3 years of warranty.

On any cat I would buy their hood pin kit and just save yourself some trouble and break off the plastic pieces and fix them with their pin kit.

I thought only the HCR had titanium springs

the dakota performance porting works better on the hill, it will pull a sled length or two in a up hill drag and the slp porting works really good as well but seems to be stronger in a drag race, 1 or 2 length. tested with for sleds two 08's and two 09's with each porting. I think 170hp is as good as it gets, slp says 169. something on there performance package.

TI springs suck, they bind

hey

I believe the sno-pro comes with a titanium clutch spring. I prefer the coil over zero's for a front shock on my hcr. I was to impatient to wait for a sno-pro to be assembled, so went with the hcr. You will be happy with any m-series. I woke mine up this year with slp pipe, bdx intake, and clutching. she is a monster.
