Where to stay/ride in togwotee?

First time poster here, but been reading on snowest for about a month. I can't stand to not ride anymore. 2 Xp's are looking lonley in the garage. Thanks for the great picks of tog. Going up next thursday-sunday. Where is a good place to stay? And most importantly, where is the best riding? If any snowesters are gonna be there, would love to ride with you. Thanks for the imput, I can't wait:D

if you dont want to trailer.. stay at togwotee mtn. lodge.. a bit pricey... otherwise you can stay in dubois... can get a room there for 40-50 a night.. but kinda a pain driven back and forth.. Our group has found the best riding just over the hill, and around the corner, next to this one tree :D.. the riding is usually pretty good which ever direction you go.. stop in and talk with the locals at the lodge they are pretty helpful

Now days when you factor in everthing the price at Togwotee isn't all that bad. Sure it's not like the nasty super 8 in Dubois but I would much rather pay the price to be at the cabin in the morning and the evening or even a lodge room then to get in the truck and drive back and forth. Too much time wasted, and fuel for the vehicles if it's diesel is nothing short of downright insane. Last year Dubois diesel fuel was over .40 higher then Togwotee diesel. Now figure that?

Stay at Togwotee. Get the plain lodge room, no meals or anything else or do the same thing in the cabin and bring your own food. It works out pretty cheap if you have 3-5 guys in your party.

Simply ride anywhere. The further you get from the lodge the better it always gets but there is some good stuff that never seems to be touched with in 6-8 miles of the lodge. It's still shocking to me.

Turpin Meadow Ranch or Hatchet Resort are options if you can't get in at the Togwotee MTN Lodge. The Jackson Snowdevils Christmas party is nest weekend so you might have a tough time getting a room.

Hatchet has been closed for two seasons now when counting this one. It used to be the place to eat up there. A much better menu then Togwotee, it's too bad it's not still open. It was a good place when things got to be all booked up at the top. We stayed in the Hunter cabin. It was an expierence!

I don't even know if the station is open anymore in the winter. It didn't look like it last year when we drove on by.

Ditto to what everyone else has said. It is cheaper to stay in Dubois as far as room costs but buy the time you add in fuel costs and trailer time it is easier to stay at Togwotee. They have very good rooms or cabins and they have great meals. Ride anywhere. GO exploring.
