where to stay in the snowies?

M
Planning a trip to snowies and was looking at snowy mtn lodge. after reading a few posts, I think I need a new option.

Also when is the best snow conditions typically? looking towards march

I would recommend staying at Mountain Meadow Cabins a little further up the mountain. It's ride in, the cabins are quaint but comfortable, and the service is great.

I would also recommend the OLD Corral in centennial, the manager there is a great guy and can cook a mean meal at a fair price.

Mountain Meadow cabins if you want to stay up top. You will have to eat at Snowy Mountain Lodge, or bring/cook your own food in the Mountain Meadow Cabins

Albany Lodge is a good place.

There are a few options to stay in town.

cabin

We had a group of 8 that stayed at Winter Creek condos, and cabins.
It was really nice, big, comfortable, cozy.
I guess we lucked out because we were able to drive right from our cabin.
I was told that's not always the case. But a full kitchen, fireplace, grill on the deck, I really like it. it had plenty of room for everyone.
hope this helps

we stayed in the phoenix

wintercreek is good but usually can't ride from there.
Albany lodge is good, the bar and food is good, and you can ride from there
Mountain medow is good on top
Old Corral is another good place, but have to trailer

I usually stay at Albany Lodge or the Hampton Inn in Laramie

There is also the Mountain View in Centennial, but it's usually booked in advance and you do have to trailer up to the top. The Beartree is a great place to eat, just up the street and you have fuel at the Friendly Store.
On the west side there are new cabins across the road from The Place--can't think of the name, look nice though.
Tog9 isn't the first to stay in French Creek--I'm sure not the last either.

We stay at the Old Corral early at late season....The price is right then. Ken the manager is a great guy. BYOB :beer;:beer;. They have no intentions of getting a liquor license. Peak Season We stay in Laramie at the Hotel 6. Gives the boys a chance to see some college a** at the Buckhorn and the Cowboy Bar. :D

I was trying to remember Ken's name, thanks for reminding me. I like to refer to him as tiny. He is one mountain man if i've ever seen one.

We also have stayed at Winter Creek Condo's with Brett And Mira. They are great people and we've always had a pleasant stay. Cabins are always in good shape and clean. We've gotten pretty lucky and always stayed at the big ones closest to the office. Boy are they spacious.

What is on the west side?

The Place is over on the west side. As the saying goes... There is no place like the place around the place so you must be at The Place. Bar Grill and cabins. Freindly and fun. Can ride out of the cabins. 307-326-8372

I like to sleep in French Creek under a pine tree, it's real cheap

I perfer a nice little spot down by Hell's Canyon. Good shelter and plenty of running water close by to boil :) Bring your own entertainment, the nights are long! Eric
