where to get a adjustable steering post

can some one tell me where to get an adjustable steering post and what the best price they paid for them is I think free agent sold them but I cant remember. i broke mine and now its time to change.

I've got a few of them in the garbage can at my house... you should really get one, it's AUSUM when a post snaps off leaving you with zero control.

There are better ways to do it, and the cat adj. post isn't it.

If you're really stuck on buying one of the worst innovations to cat sleds in years, PM free agent on here, Michelle has the best prices on that stuff.

Where do it snaps?
I havs a buddy who have got the steering a litle bendet..

it snaps off just below where the two dissimilar metals are welded.

It takes a little bend first, then it snaps. I've done 4, and seen around 12 or better now.

I bent one with my ribs first ride on my sled but other than that I haven't had a problem. Although I do try and keep my sled rubber side down, maybe that has something to do with it....LOL!!!! I've bailed a couple times and rolled it on purpose to get unstuck and no problems yet. I would imagine late spring might be a different story though but that goes for most stearing posts anyway.

THe biggest difference is that when most posts bend, this one snaps. I'm assuming there is a little bend first, but in two of mine I thought they were straight when they snapped. When a post bends, you can bend it back, you can ride it out, not big deal. When they snap, you're F***ed. You have no control & need a tow out, which in the places we ride can be a VERY bad thing.

I hear the one built by Black Diamond is stronger, made with chrome moly, but in my opinion pulls the handlebars back to far from what the engineers first designed the sled for,to be rider forward. This might be why when Brett Rasmussen in the schooled video puts the bars down low,so he can ride it the way the engineers designed it.
I bought the AMP 4 1/2" riser that is bent forward so it keeps the same geometry as the lower position.I have pictures of the riser in product review section if you want to check it out.
The Black Diamond adjustable post with a short AMP riser would probally work better if you want the telescopic set up,but still have the rider forward feeling.

Dave, I've seen a few snapped BD units as well, I was really hoping it would be a big improvement, but that has not been the case. I'd be willing to go that way if they were weak, but just bent, but that doesn't seem to be the case unfortunately.
