WHere is the good riding in Oregon

So what about Mt. Adams?

I am a bit confused by riding in that area, because according to some sources, it is all restricted by the Yakima Indian reservation?

If I were to show up, where is the parking? Riding? Is it all trails? Boondocking? Meadows?

You can park at snow king. Ride up the road about a mile. look for a left hand turn and a small trail and follow it up the mountain. your in-bounds in this area. you end up climbing a short chute and your in the lava fields, all in-bounds riding. There is a boundary you will eventually run into up the mountain a ways. Good boondocking area.

Mt. Adams is just one of three sno parks that you access large riding areas when you pass through Trout Lake, WA. Flat Top and Snow King are the two most popular. Atkinson is the third sno park and that is where the overnight campers will go. There is a fourth area between Flat Top sno park and Mt. Adams, that as yet does not have a sno park. Then you have a large area all to yourself, of untracked powder. When accessing the mountain from Snow King, you ride up the road 3.5 miles before you take the left that the other sledder was referring to. Or you can go straight ahead and climb up the mountain through the Indian Reservation. They don't have enough people to patral the south side and east side of Mt. Adams. They may patrol the North side and North East side, but I am only guessing. Once you get on the mountain, you have to climb an 8000 ft pass in order to drop down into the Big Muddy on the east side. Then you are in wonderland right out of National Geographic. The best hill climbing in all of Oregon and SW Washington, is accessed from Snow King sno park.
