Hoopers - honestly, it's not about the $$$. Everyone is capable of paying this new found ransom. There's 850 posts explaining why what has happened and what is planned is designed for profit and not for the good of this long standing community. It kind of sucks, but that's what's going on....the honestly don't understand us and don't care to. Many will pay and check in, but the will to contribute however you may in order to help them sell memberships for profit is distasteful. There are lots of ways to make $$$ if they're willing to be creative and listen to the members - that's not their plan.

Ok, that said...

The most important thing here is what RP started out with - we need to focus on finding a location to assemble, and keep what is left of the community together. I love seeing the Grand Mesa reports, and hope to go ride up there, I like asking quesitons in my pet SkiDoo sections... and I like posting the Irwin Reports getting everyone whipped up into a frenzy when we get a 50" dump!

b--C--R is an option, and its fairly new.
slemods.com is local, which I particularly like
There may be other options out there.

One thing we could do is put together an email list for the short term, and I'll create an auto-responder so we can reach everyone. Strict promise that it won't be pimped out for $10/user!

I enjoy talking to everyone on here, and watching the conversations & info.

Very good points bushy and it's exactly why I lasted an entire week as a mod before I threw in that towel. I thought I would be able to do something good to help bring this place to the luster it once was. Then the regime didn't want anything to do with that and it was all about going "forward".

Right on XC. I respect you dropping the "mod" hat. I could see it being a difficult sandbox to play in. Props to the guys trying to make it better and who don't abuse the buttons...or have made an effort to improve. PJ deserves props for handling it pretty dam well! If it wasn't for Christopher and his constant stirring the pot, I think things would get back to normal here.

Arfrce, just chill out and you'll be fine here, but the bold red is likely to gain you more sneers than admirers from the get-go. Nothing personal, just the way we are.

I think the hundred or so CO peeps that visit this page are a pretty well oiled machine and we know how to stay out of each others way pretty good. Best way i could put it. Would hate to see the fellowship end, but it's true we could just move it. A "church" is anywhere you make it

I need to get over to sledmods and check in more. (i hear he has some bewbage). The B c R site just sort of came up. Didn't give it much thought beyond "wow cool colors" lol

right there! yep they are good replies, but we don't need a super mod to approve of them! See where I'm headin with this...You set yourself apart you'll never be one of the group. You gotta work at not sounding authoritative or they're going to whomp on ya. That assumes you do want to part of the group. If not, have at it. lol

I don't understand. So they want to make it better, charge you very little, and give you so much more then what you have now.
Heck the past issues of magezines cost more then what they are charging. Yet you guys are so quick to toss in the towel.

arfrce, I think what the members are trying to get through to the mods is that not every thread needs to stay on topic all the time. You probably have already realized that most of the guys in this section know each other or at least have met. Sure the threads may drift at times, but usually they stay interesting or they die. There is some good natured ribbing going on between friends, as well as some conflicts at times but how do you tell the difference behind a keybord? Unless you have been around for awhile to know the characters involved, how can you judge what is going on? I think what we as members want is more rope before the mods step in and alter posts. In case you haven't noticed, this place is incredibly slow for traffic lately. It is like someone farted in a crowded room and everyone scattered.

By the way RP, I think most of the choices have already been stated. Hopefully we all land in the same place as this place is usually good for conditions and info.
