Where’s the Snow??

Have a trip for Feb 7th-14th planned. Question is where to go??
We basically want to go to the snow. Were almost booked for Alpine/Togwotee Wyoming, but it looks like the snow might be bleak.
We have considered Cooke City and even Colorado. We are leaving from Lake Tahoe, CA and don’t mind the travel.
We are just looking for some decent snow to ride. We have absolutely zero here.

Suggestions? Tips?

thanks in advance

All I know is a lot can happen between now and then; and I hope it does! IMO...ideal situation is to take the time off, then plan on where to go a few days out.

A quick look around the snotel sites of Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, Montana shows snow levels of 50-80". We have been riding eastern Idaho and western Wyoming every weekend since nov 15th. We've had lots of great snow and as I look at the weather right now there is another foot or more on the way for the next few days.

If you want bottomless powder you cant plan a trip, you have to be ready all the time and be able to take off when the next big storm rolls in. It was only about 10 days ago Cook city got a 4ft dump.

All the places you listed have a good base, if you plan a trip 2-3 weeks in advance its always going to be a roll of the dice on if you will have fresh snow. Eric

we are up for that, the only concern we have is finding lodging with such short notice:face-icon-small-sad

Lodging in NW CO

If you are looking for lodging we happen to have availability from Feb 5-16 along with over a foot of fresh powder on a good 5-7 foot base. Our secluded cabin has ride in/out access from the front door to over 230,000+ acres of snowmobiling terrain and we are the only place open in the winter within a 30-60 mile radius. We are a secluded 4 bed/3.5 bath 3600+ SF place that can comfortably sleep up to 11 individuals and more if family/couples sharing one of the five queen beds.

We were also featured in the December issue of Snowest Magazine.

Cheers,
Lisa
