When do you pull it out???

When do you pull your sled out of the garage and get it ready for the season??

Would October 1st be too early??

What all do you do? I need to run all the fogging oil out of mine, clean the clutches, adjust the track, align tha skiis, and lube everything.

What else is there other than new plugs and belt!

Hurry up snow!!!:D:beer;:D

Every year I swear I'll make a list of spring & fall service items but didn't.

Some of what you do depends on age & mileage but some general thoughts:
1 Check all track, JS bearings for rough spots. If they rumble, are rough change them now.
2 Adjust chain tension, change oil, synthetic is best.
3 Check carefully for loose nuts, bolts & loctite any that are loose, check track.
4 Check engine compression or do a leak down.
5 Lube hyme joints, grease suspension, steering, etc.
6 Check track tension, align track.
7 Set ski toe in, inspect wear bars/carbides.
8 Replace oil filter, drain carb water traps-if any.
9 Remove drive & driven clutches, clean, service, inspect carefully, replace parts as needed. Check alignment, belt side clearance & belt deflection. New belt & plugs.

Probably missed some things.

Good point Ron on the chain!! Especially on Polaris sleds! CHECK YOUR CAHIN AND SPROCKETS!!! Nothing like a little preventative maintenance to keep things operational through the winter!!:face-icon-small-win

coming out of the trailer in 2 weeks for a full check up.
If we get a freek storm before then, I will run the fogging oil out on the ride from the parking lot and worry about everything else later.

Mine was never put away. I've been upgrading various parts and repairing others. Maybe I was actually waiting for the rare summer snowfall, but I'm not sure. Once I clean up my carbs in the next little bit I will fire it up again.

Buy a new one in Febuary like i did and only put 350 miles on it before you fog it, grease it and polish it up and park it for the summer. Everything should be good to go except for what i broke. Anyone selling one gripper ski ??????

Hmmm... from first glance at this thread topic , My mind went way somewhere else...

In and out of love.... I'm not in love with my sled this year yet

OK OK you may have the best climbs in your garage. But I know I have the most laps on my le in my garage. Ever seen a black crop circle on the concrete?

took all mine for a spin behind the shop yesterday! Hard to get traction with 200+++ hp on grass with no studs!

Been wrenching on mine for the last two weeks.
All that's left (Planned) is the chaincase.
But the snow show is in mid October and you never know what that will bring. :D
