Maybe the lessen learned by the admin is that sometimes organization reduces interaction. It is possible they didn't think it would be reduced.
Whats with moving the movie trailers this year?

Pretty clear which will bring more interaction. More likely it wasn't considered. But hey we all make mistakes and i'm sure the powers that be will allow videos in all relevant forums. Only reason I'm posting here, is because I know how much effort everyone puts into these teasers. And it's all for the viewers enjoyment. So when it's stuffed in the corner and people don't get to see it, well it kinda takes the wind outta your sails.

When I first joined Snowest I only visited the Powder Room to meet other girls that ride. Then I started poking around on the General forum. I only recently found the Mountain Deep Powder section, and even more recently discovered the Movies section, only because my post was moved there.
Some people are comfortable frequenting certain areas, and might not have time to search out the whole forum.
I'm all for organization, but I think the posts should be copied, not moved.
I to have to agree on moving the the teasers and movies to the Movie section was not that good of an idea. I don't click on every section to see everything and I don't need one more.
For me it goes like this
Pro ride section
General Snowmobling
Utah
Idaho
Wyoming
Deep Powder/Mountain riding at it's best
then maybe go cruise the swap meet. I kind of expect the movies to be in either General or Deep powder I don't want to have to open every single section to see all the good stuff just leave them in where all the traffic is

Yes, moving things does typically irritate people... as a result we try to do as little of it as possible. The fact this thread is here is proof that we need to look into this further than we have. The movies section was started last year as it was requested by many folks in the forum so they wouldn't have to look for videos and those who were sick of seeing them everywhere across the rest of the forum would also be accommodated by the same effort - having them in 1 place. The fact is that while it has been used, it really hasn't been taken advantage of to the extent that we had all hoped and now folks are unhappy again - so here we are again attempting to determine the best course of action. If you look at the bottom to see how many of the mods have viewed this thread you will see we are taking notes of everyones ideas - PLEASE keep them coming (respectfully)!!!!!
On the slow side of things - ya, there are several reasons peeps may not be posting in today; Overmoderation is a very valid opinion, but not forgotten are the fact it is the middle of summer time when many aren't thinking of snow, a Friday when peeps are thinking of the weekend, and a holiday weekend at that when folks are likely spending time planning to meet with extended family or going on a trip and not near a computer.... ALL very valid possibilities.
One last note to add - threads do get deleted from time to time for various reasons, every single moderator has had to make the decision if a thread is in-fact worthy of deletion (not an easy call to make, and virtually always is discussed between multiple mods b4 the action is taken). It is interesting to see that you have deleted 3 of your threads in here (the only 3 visible since April 1st) that totaled up to 9 pages of rather funny material that MANY of us have had some good laughs reading. I have to wonder why you would feel it necessary to take that action yourself? However, this is not helping the topic of the movies section so we'll hopefully get back to topic.
Perhaps a long-winded reply, but hopefully a thorough one.
Keep the opinions coming and we will hopefully all agree on a change for the better one way or another

My opinion is this... teasers get added all year long at random points. The only way to catch 'em in "movie" section would be to check it "daily". But thats a waste of time because there arent ENOUGH videos/traffic posted throughout the year to warrant "daily checking". THEN... how many of us actually REALLY log on a FORUM for videos specifically? (I dont, but if I come across one the general/mountain/states thread that I look into each log-in, I'll take the EXTRA time to click and watch) So... why not let the "tease"-guy post it where he wants? As said, they'll fall of at some point. If that same "teasing" guy wants to make THAT teaser easier to find "farther down the line"... he can post it in videos, then whomever logged on TO WATCH VIDEOS will click on videos and find it...
Personnally I said THE H}LL WITH IT! 2 days ago after trying YouTube for my teaser again for the first time in a year... same old issues. THEN... couldnt even get the video to appear on SnoWest (in the mountain forum) using the link inside the YouTube tags... ITS FREE AND EASY TO SWING WITH BCR AND VIMEO!!!
...later, gonna go blow the dust off the "ghost town" we call the NEVADA thread...

I'm opposed to the vid/movie section as well...I think General or Mtn/deep powder are better for them...however, while that section exists, that's where we are supposed to put the threads. We are trying to change that though.

well toilet paper is intended for the arse...but i do blow my nose with it once in a while...the only thing that happened here was that someone used the toilet paper for their arse and used the same piece for their nose and still doesn;t realize that something stinks...
