What's the most protective, least sinky and smoky oil that won't gum up power valves?

I plan on keeping my mod RX-1 and now I just bought a 2009 M8 Sno Pro.

I'm still riding with my fourstroke buds for the most part and of course now I'm getting called "stinky" because I'm riding a two stroke again.

I'm not sure if it's the CAT APV two stroke oil I'm using but, the sled is really smoky and I'd like to minimize the amout of smoke and stink and maintain or increase the amount of protection being provided to the motor.

I'm focused on three (maybe 4) oils right now.

1. Legend ZX-2R (I'm not sure I need the 2RS) it sounds like it runs very clean and protects very well. Maybe a bit pricey?

2. Fowlers Two Stroke Extreme Oil - it sounds like it's very inexpensive for as good of a job as it does.

3. Blue Marble - I have used this for years on my boat, and other two stroke sleds but perhpas technology has marched on and there's something better?

4. Phillips Injex - another relatively low cost option.

What have you found to be the most protective, yet least stinky two stroke oil available?

I don't think I've read a label on any 2 stroke oil jug that didn't claim it was minimal smoke, best protection, and maintains the cleanest exhaust valves. Hope that helps, LOL. EW ps, I run Amsoil too, but it does smoke, people question its performance, and I still clean my exhaust valves once in a while. But, atleast I pay a lot for it.

Just a long shot, but have you estimated your oil to fuel consumption to verify that your oil pump is set correctly? Good luck.

Eric, you are so right on the money. No, I haven't verified my oil pump is dispensing the correct amount of oil yet. I know that's an issue.

I finally got over 100 miles on the sled yesterday. I'd like to get close to 300 before winter disapears if possible.

I run blue marble and compared to running the cat synthetic I think it smokes way less and smells way better once the sled gets warmed up. I've heard they switched up the recipe or how they made it lately but I haven't switched away from it and am very happy. I would say that if you've had lucky with your boat motor's on it, why switch away.

Geesh, this is like asking diesel guys what oil they prefer.

I guess I should have saw that one coming? :beer;

Keep your favorite brands coming.

There was a thread on oil preference not too long ago, you can probably search and find it. I run Klotz, but have also run Polaris Ves oil in the past and it was good too...jmho:beer;

Amsoil. Been running it in 2 07 ski-doo 800r motors. Burns very clean with little to no smoke once the motor warms up. Checked exhaust valves last night and they look like new. No carbon build up. Both these engines have over 2000 miles on them with no problems.

I have run this oil for 3 years now. My smoke is not that noticable, usually only when cold. People actually like riding behind me due to the smell; I've heard "smells like a french wh#re" quite a few times! lol

I looked at my power valves at about 1200 miles and they were surprisingly clean!

I get the oil in a 5 gallon bucket to cut a few $$. Over all, it seems to be worth the price.

FWIW
