Just wondering what some of the weights are from the guys who modded out there IQ's and if they were getting close to the stock weight of the pro???

That is 427 on the D8 and 403.5 on the Pro.

Both sleds have coolant and oil. I think they might have had a couple gallons of fuel, but not positive.

Thanks for the info guys, i know its early just trying to plan a new sled build for next year and trying to see what would be the lightest options for me, i seen a 156" IQR at haydays that weighed 418lbs, I never been on a IQR chassis so not sure if that is the way to go or not. I really like the IQ and the way it handles. A new pro cost 12,800 here in Canada so i pretty sure i can build a light weight iq or iqr for that price, And then its something that not many other guys will have unlike the pro flooded parking lots that i see now. If i could get a carles cyce 660 in a 418lb IQR i am pretty sure that that will out perform my assault all day long in every kind of condition and have better reliability. What you all think?

AgentRMK on this forum had or has (not sure) a titanium IQ 860 that I believe was around 420 if not less. He had ti front and rear Holz. I'm pretty sure he had one of the lightest IQ's.

I've owned both...Carls 660 IQR and 09 Assault.... The IQR 660 was an awesome sled, very fun!!! but my 09 800 Assault with PCV and full SLP exhaust is a no contest! Not to mention you don't want to deal with carbs and jetting on the IQR for elevation and temp changes. My 09 is down probably 28 lbs or so, with a Timberskid -16 and full SLP -10 and floats on the front. The drop and roll with 2.5 camo probably helps some as well.

Just my 2 cents!

i havent had my on a scale yet this year to see where its at now, but w/ everything done to it it should around 40-50lbs lighter than stock so right in the 420-430 range dry weight
my goal was to be under 550 wet weight (15 gallon trail tank) and i think i'm pretty close

I'm curious on the build list for the two sleds above over 50 lbs on the dragon and 30 on the PRO removed.

The lightest I've heard of on the IQs is a Holz Titanium Dragon at about 405....but I'm not sure on that.

Sam?????

kinzer, what all do you have to make such a dramatic weight loss? same with the other sleds? i know the slp system is like 7-10 pounds, and a rear skid is like 15 or so and front a arms and spindles is like what 5 pounds? well, heck i guess that would equal -27 to -30 pounds, but on my dragon, 480 about, that only brings me to 450... how do i lose the next 20-30 pounds?

As far as IQ vs. IQR, it's all personal preference. I feel the IQ chassis is better balanced.

Mtn tamer rear skid- 16 lbs savings
Bark Buster front end- 8 lbs savings
153 powerclaw track- 8-10 lbs savings
carbon fiber hood(no headlight)-12-13 lbs savings (maybe more i cant remember what the stock hood w/ headlight assmly weighed i know it was heavy tho. my carbon hood weighs less than 5lbs)
haven't weighed it but i'm sure the turbo/oil tank is lighter than the stock can
so right around 44lbs weight savings over stock
471-44=427
haven't weighed it but it has to be right in that neighbor hood

didnt realize the power claw saves that much weight. and would a headlight vent kit like the d8 at the top of the page save a considerable amount of weight?

I'll throw it on the scale tomorrow....
Should be under 400lbs full of fluids...470lbs full of fuel.....

The photo I posted was from the Colorado Snow show. That is Donavon's booth.

I am pretty sure he went the titanium route as well. Maybe a shaved track, Timbersled and Holz.

Look closely and the Pro has IQ Walker Evans, it also has a 146" 5.1 series track put on it with a lightweight suspension.

Both sleds have a bunch of little stuff. No rear bumper, rope instead. Little stuff adds up but it is also expensive.
